Bible Study: Learn God's Commands
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Saturday January 31, 2009 and we are completing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Learn God's Commands
It's not easy to be a Christian, one will face much criticism and rejection, even from those who claim to be Christian's. However, we can not let that stop us from learning and doing what God commands. It truly is the best life we can ever live.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapter 40
You can read the chapter by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2040&version=9
It took nine months to build the Tabernacle, Moses did exactly as the Lord commanded. "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, On the first day of the first month shalt thou set up the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation.............Thus did Moses: according to all that the LORD commanded him, so did he." (Exodus 40:1-2,16). The phrase "did all that the Lord commanded" emphasizes the supreme importance of being in obedience to the will of God. Moses' obedience was complete in every detail for making every item, including the tent, altars, vessels, Brass Laver, garments, pins, sockets, loops, posts, and furniture.
The first thing to be placed within the Tabernacle was the Ark of the Testimony which contained the stone tablets written with the Ten Commandments of God. "And thou shalt put therein the ark of the testimony, and cover the ark with the vail. And thou shalt bring in the table, and set in order the things that are to be set in order upon it; and thou shalt bring in the candlestick, and light the lamps thereof. And thou shalt set the altar of gold for the incense before the ark of the testimony, and put the hanging of the door to the tabernacle." (40:3-5).
After the Tabernacle was constructed, the cloud of the Lord's presence and the Tabernacle were inseparable throughout the Israelites journeys. "Then a cloud covered the tent of the congregation, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And Moses was not able to enter into the tent of the congregation, because the cloud abode thereon, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. And when the cloud was taken up from over the tabernacle, the children of Israel went onward in all their journeys: But if the cloud were not taken up, then they journeyed not till the day that it was taken up. For the cloud of the LORD was upon the tabernacle by day, and fire was on it by night, in the sight of all the house of Israel, throughout all their journeys." (40:35-38). If the cloud lifted and moved forward, the Tabernacle and the people then followed; if the cloud stopped, the people remained until it moved again.
God's Word and His Holy Spirit provide all of the wisdom, spiritual guidance, and strength necessary to live for Him. It is of great importance that we, like Moses, do all that the LORD commanded and in order to know what His commands are we must get into reading His Word daily. Do not worry about trying to read and know the entire Bible, God knows that we would never be able to comprehend everything all at once. One can never read a chapter in the Bible and think the same exact thing about it because He reveals what He wants us to learn each time we read it. That is why it is also important to meditate on His Word and read through the Old and New Testaments over and over again.
The Bible teaches us to deny ungodliness and to look for the glorious appearing of the Lord, "Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works." (Titus 2:12-14). No matter who tries to criticize us or make us fall away from the True Word of God Jesus is with us and will redeem us, just keep living righteously and we will prevail.
Today's Psalm: 32:5-7
"I acknowledge my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah. For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found: surely in the floods of great waters they shall not come nigh unto him. Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We are confronted with deception on many fronts every day, so much so, that we can be deceived without even realizing it. Would You help us to watch out and be on our guard so that we are not deceived by man’s words, no matter how convincing they are, how charming their personality, or how cunning their craft. Help us not to fall for Satan’s deceptive tactics that have brought down believers throughout the church age. We seek You for strength and discipline. We search the Scriptures for discernment and the true revelation of who Jesus is; the Son of the Living God. In Jesus' name............Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and weekend.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Follow God's Commands
Today is Friday January 30, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Following God's Commands
Many Christian's are unaware that God reveals specific commands to us when we read His Word. It is of great importance that we read the entire Bible so that we know what they are. By followingHis commands we are not only obeying Him,we are being blessed as well.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 38-39
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2038-39&version=9
The children of Israelcompleted the Tabernacle at Mount Sinai as Godcommanded Moses. "Thus was all the work of the tabernacle of the tent of the congregation finished: and the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they. And they brought the tabernacle unto Moses, the tent, and all his furniture, his taches, his boards, his bars, and his pillars, and his sockets,And the covering of rams' skins dyed red, and the covering of badgers' skins, and the vail of the covering,The ark of the testimony, and the staves thereof, and the mercy seat, The table, and all the vessels thereof, and the shewbread,The pure candlestick, with the lamps thereof, even with the lamps to be set in order, and all the vessels thereof, and the oil for light,And the golden altar, and the anointing oil, and the sweet incense, and the hanging for the tabernacle door,The brasen altar, and his grate of brass, his staves, and all his vessels, the laver and his foot,The hangings of the court, his pillars, and his sockets, and the hanging for the court gate, his cords, and his pins, and all the vessels of the service of the tabernacle, for the tent of the congregation,The cloths of service to do service in the holy place, and the holy garments for Aaron the priest, and his sons' garments, to minister in the priest's office.According to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel made all the work. And Moses did look upon all the work, and, behold, they had done it as the LORD had commanded, even so had they done it: and Moses blessed them." (Exodus 39:32-43). The Israelites set an example to those who have backslid away from God. Just as they were blessed by turning to God and following His commands, we too can be.
The Ark of the Testimonycontained the Covenant between God and His people. It was a wooden chest overlaid with gold, both inside and out. "And they shall make an ark of shi*tim wood: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof, and a cubit and a half the height thereof. And thou shalt overlay it with pure gold, within and without shalt thou overlay it, and shalt make upon it a crown of gold round about. And thou shalt cast four rings of gold for it, and put them in the four corners thereof; and two rings shall be in the one side of it, and two rings in the other side of it.And thou shalt make staves of shi*tim wood, and overlay them with gold. And thou shalt put the staves into the rings by the sides of the ark, that the ark may be borne with them. The staves shall be in the rings of the ark: they shall not be taken from it.And thou shalt put into the ark the testimony which I shall give thee. And thou shalt make a mercy seat of pure gold: two cubits and a half shall be the length thereof, and a cubit and a half the breadth thereof." (Exodus 25:10-17). The Ark was a type of Christ, who alone can atone for sin.
The woodis a representation ofChrist'shuman nature, as foretold by Isaiah the prophet, "For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." (Isaiah 53:2-5). His description is in contrast to the tree that the Ark was made of. it was made from the wood of theshi*tim tree which grew in the deserts and is a symbol of the barren world system.
The lid of the Ark was made of pure gold and was called the Mercy Seat, the gold represented His divine nature, for He is both fully God and fully man. It covered the Law that had been placed in the Ark. The Mercy Seat represents mercy and salvation from sin. It is also symbolic ofChrist, the perfect, sinless Son of God who provides a way for us to find mercy and salvation. He isour High Priest and atonement for our sins. "Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people." (Hebrews 2:17). God came here in the flesh of Jesus Christ in order for us to find mercy and salvation from our sins. The Ark was behind the veil, inside the Holy of Holies, which is where the Lord was present. However, without the presence of the Lord, all the services of the Tabernacle would have been meaningless.
The same can be said today, one can read the Bible, go to church, and pray, but without the presence of God we are not going to get very far.It is of great importance that we daily ask for the Power of God to indwell in us.One thing is clear, all who accept Jesus and are baptized are filled with the Holy Spirit, which means that God does indwell in us. However, we must be willing to acknowledge Him. We can not move forward nor know the will of God unless we make an effort to get to let the Holy Spirit work in us. In order for the Holy Spirit to work in us we need to daily read His Word, aswe prayerfully read the Word of God daily and worship the Lord, His indwelling presence will grow, bringing meaning to our lives and showing is His Will.
Today's Psalm: 19:7-9
"The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Wet our appetite for spiritual food that brings nourishment, growth and experience as we partake of the Bread of Life.May our hearts hunger for the wonderful promises, provisions, and principles revealed throughout Your Holy Scripture. As we regularly feast on these nourishing nuggets we become mature and strengthened so that we can trust You in times of famine.Keep us tasting and keep us trusting. In Jesus' name..............Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night and weekend.

Christina

Bible Study: Intercession
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Thursday January 29, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Intercession
Jesus Christ is the only Intercessor to God and no matter how much your pray, read, or serve God, unless you ask Jesus into your life you will not be known to God.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 35-37
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2035-37&version=9
It was time to build the Tabernacle, all it's furnishings were according to detailed specifications given by God's instructions. "And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them..............And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments." (Exodus 35:1,21).
The Altar of Incense was made, "And he made the incense altar of shittim wood: the length of it was a cubit, and the breadth of it a cubit; it was foursquare; and two cubits was the height of it; the horns thereof were of the same. And he overlaid it with pure gold, both the top of it, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns of it: also he made unto it a crown of gold round about. And he made two rings of gold for it under the crown thereof, by the two corners of it, upon the two sides thereof, to be places for the staves to bear it withal. And he made the staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold. And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure incense of sweet spices, according to the work of the apothecary." (37:25-29). The Altar of Incense was symbolic of Christ as our Intercessor, Each morning, Aaron the high priest would refill the lamps with pure olive oil and burn incense upon the altar. He would take a coal of fire from the Brazen Altar and place it on the Altar of Incense and then place the incense, symbolic of our prayers, on it for a sweet fragrance that ascended toward heaven day and night.
The priests were permitted in the Holy Place, but only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies, once a year on the Day of Atonement. In front of the veil was a Gold Altar that was much smaller than the Brazen Altar. But the Brazen Altar sacrifices dealt with the judgment of sin. It was near the entrance to the courtyard. God alone was the source of fire on both of the altars.
Today, only Jesus Christ can make it possible for us to approach the Heavenly Father. He isour High Priestthat intercedes for us each time we pray andallows us to be made perfect in the eyes of God. "But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself." (Hebrews7:24-27).
An unsaved man maygo to church, hear sermons, pray, sing hymns, and even read a Bible, but unless he knows Jesus it is as if He has done nothing at all for God. Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23).
From the Old Testament to the New Testament we have always learned that we needed an intercessor in order to reach God. Before we knew Jesus we had to go to a priest or whomever was appointed as the onequalified to hear our prayer, confessour sinsor ask our needs in hopes that God heard us and will help us. However, we no longer have to do all those things norworry that Godhas not heard us becauseall we have to dois accept Jesus. Accepting Jesus will help you experience a true relationship with God. Are you ready to experience a true relationship with Him?
Today's Psalm: 9:10
"And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee."
Today's Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that you came to this earth and died as a substitute for me.I place my faith in You and what You have done for me.I receive You into my life and choose this day to follow and serve You.In Your mighty name, Jesus, I pray..........Amen. Have a wonderful day/night and many blessings to you.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: Idol Worship
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Wednesday January 28, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Idol Worship
We all would like to believe that we have a perfect relationship with God, but the truth is, any person or thing that takes place over God becomes an idol that we worship. Until we make God the one and only thing that we worship we will not have a relationship with Him at all.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 32-34
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2032-34&version=9
Moses was on Mount Sinai when God gave him the two tables of stone written byHis finger, he was delayed in coming down to the people of Isreal and was unknown to theevil that was taking place. "And when the people saw that Moses delayed to come down out of the mount, the people gathered themselves together unto Aaron, and said unto him, Up, make us gods, which shall go before us; for as for this Moses, the man that brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we wot not what is become of him.And Aaron said unto them, Break off the golden earrings, which are in the ears of your wives, of your sons, and of your daughters, and bring them unto me.And all the people brake off the golden earrings which were in their ears, and brought them unto Aaron. And he received them at their hand, and fashioned it with a graving tool, after he had made it a molten calf: and they said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt. And when Aaron saw it, he built an altar before it; and Aaron made proclamation, and said, To morrow is a feast to the LORD. And they rose up early on the morrow, and offered burnt offerings, and brought peace offerings; and the people sat down to eat and to drink, and rose up to play." (Exodus 32:1-4). Instead of waiting on God they decided to make their own god and even gave offerings to it. A true burnt offering was a delight to the Lord since it symbolized full surrender to Him; but these idolatrous sacrifices were hypocrisy.
Returning to the camp, Moses saw how quickly the Israelites had fallen into corruption, "And the LORD said unto Moses, Go, get thee down; for thy people, which thou broughtest out of the land of Egypt, have corrupted themselves:They have turned aside quickly out of the way which I commanded them: they have made them a molten calf, and have worshipped it, and have sacrificed thereunto, and said, These be thy gods, O Israel, which have brought thee up out of the land of Egypt..................And Moses turned, and went down from the mount, and the two tables of the testimony were in his hand: the tables were written on both their sides; on the one side and on the other were they written.................And it came to pass, as soon as he came nigh unto the camp, that he saw the calf, and the dancing: and Moses' anger waxed hot, and he cast the tables out of his hands, and brake them beneath the mount. And he took the calf which they had made, and burnt it in the fire, and ground it to powder, and strawed it upon the water, and made the children of Israel drink of it.And Moses said unto Aaron, What did this people unto thee, that thou hast brought so great a sin upon them?" (32:7-8,15,19-21). Only six weeks before, the whole congregation had sworn to do all that God had commanded, yet they quickly turned on Him the second they became impatient with Moses. The golden calf stands as a symbol of the humanmind which devises its own system of worship apart from, or added to, the Word of God. This false worship leads to irresponsible immoral conduct.
Christians can be compared to the Isrealites, although most of us would reject man made statues as idols we fail to realize that money, possessions, hobbies, careers, and peoplecan beidols as well. Any thing or person that becomes more important than Godbecomes an idol. The world admires the independent person who is determined to be in control, yet the only one who truly is in control is God. The second we think otherwiseHe will make sure He proves one way or another that all things are under His control. "I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things." (Isaiah 45:5-7). God in no way wants to harm us, He truly is a loving God, however He will not be mocked, He isreacting defensively just as anyone else would when being mocked.
Thankfully, because God loves us He forgives all who come to Him when they realize their mistakes. Therefore, it is of great importance that we get right with God by placing Him first above all things. Do not get impatient with Him because things are not going the way you imagined, He is preparing great things for you. Get in the Word of God, follow it and never make up your own rules of how to worship Him. Too many people are facing dire consequences because they chose to mix God's rules with peoples. LetGod lead you and you will have the perfect relationship with Him.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: As the One who is ever-present.
"And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest." (Exodus 33:14). Jesus is always with us where ever we go. "I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20b)
Today's Psalm: 81:8-10
"Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.0I am the LORD thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We desire to have You lead us in the paths of righteousness in the way everlasting. Sometimes the next step we take is clearly visible and other times it is a step of faith as darkness seems totake over. As we earnestly pray we can trust You who stilled the tempest and turned darkness into light. We pray for discernment and a willing spirit to follow Your leading in all matters. Let us not become impatient with You, but keep going in full faith that You will lead us to great things. In Jesus' name..............Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night and many blessings to you.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Cleansed
Today is Tuesday January 27, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message:Cleansed
All who accept Jesus into their lives are cleansed from their sins and no longer have to sacrifice animals to be saved. Although we are saved and Jesus lives within us it is still important to find the right church and get around those who also worship God.He teaches us that worship is not just an activity for us as individuals, but is also intended to be done as a group so that we can be cleansed from the corruption of the world.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 29-31
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2029-31&version=9
In order for the priests (Aaron and his sons) to be able to minister in the Tabernacle they had to be cleansed before entering. "And this is the thing that thou shalt do unto them to hallow them, to minister unto me in the priest's office: Take one young bullock, and two rams without blemish,And unleavened bread, and cakes unleavened tempered with oil, and wafers unleavened anointed with oil: of wheaten flour shalt thou make them. And thou shalt put them into one basket, and bring them in the basket, with the bullock and the two rams. And Aaron and his sons thou shalt bring unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and shalt wash them with water............Then shalt thou kill the ram, and take of his blood, and put it upon the tip of the right ear of Aaron, and upon the tip of the right ear of his sons, and upon the thumb of their right hand, and upon the great toe of their right foot, and sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about. And thou shalt take of the blood that is upon the altar, and of the anointing oil, and sprinkle it upon Aaron, and upon his garments, and upon his sons, and upon the garments of his sons with him: and he shall be hallowed, and his garments, and his sons, and his sons' garments with him." (Exodus 29:1-4, 20-21). Anointing them as priests did not exempt them from having to offer sacrifices unto the Lord, for they too were sinners. Today, we are blessed that we no longer have to sprinkle the blood of an animal on our bodies in order to be cleansed because Jesus Christ shed His blood on all of us when He died on the cross to cleanse us.He needs to be recognized for this daily as without Him we would still be practicing this ritual in order to be saved.
Before they could even enter they had to wash their hands and feet, which provided cleansing from the activities of life. "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein. For Aaron and his sons shall wash their hands and their feet thereat:When they go into the tabernacle of the congregation, they shall wash with water, that they die not; or when they come near to the altar to minister, to burn offering made by fire unto the LORD:So they shall wash their hands and their feet, that they die not: and it shall be a statute for ever to them, even to him and to his seed throughout their generations." (30:17-21).They were now qualified to enter the Tabernacle throughthe heavy linen veil which was the only entrance into the Holy Place. No matter how much we try to stay away from people and things that corrupt us we are still subject to it daily. It is important that we cleanse ourselves daily so that we too are qualified to meet with God each day.
The Command to keep the Sabbath was already included in the Ten Commandments, but more emphasis was made on this. "And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am the LORD that doth sanctify you.Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people." (31:12-14). Since it appears at the conclusion of the instructions regarding the Tabernacle, it appears that the intention was to teach the connection which existed between the Sabbath, the Tabernacle and our daily lives.
The true Church is not a building, but is made up of born-again believers in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of their lives. "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence." (Colossians 1:18). However, the churchbuilding isa place where we meet with other believers to worship Christ, who is Head of the Church. It also becomes a place to study His Word and a place where our spiritual nature is developed. "Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings, As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious. To whom coming, as unto a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God, and precious,Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ." (I Peter 2:1-5).
The sacredness of the Lord's Day is indicated by the fact that the Israelites, having a great sacred work to do in building the Tabernacle where God would dwell, were not to build it even on the Sabbath. Surely a child of God, saved and cleansed from his sins under the precious blood of Jesus, should love and respect the Lord's Day.A person who has Christ indwelling him, will desire to worship with others as did the first Christians in Jerusalem.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: Through the Laver, which held holy water
"Thou shalt also make a laver of brass, and his foot also of brass, to wash withal: and thou shalt put it between the tabernacle of the congregation and the altar, and thou shalt put water therein." (Exodus 30:18). Jesus is the Living water that quenches our thirst.
Today's Psalm: 51:1-2
"Have mercy upon me, O God, according to thy lovingkindness: according unto the multitude of thy tender mercies blot out my transgressions.Wash me throughly from mine iniquity, and cleanse me from my sin."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We pray that You will empower us to live responsible lives so that we can be living examples of what it means to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Help us to resist temptations that weaken our resolve to live holy lives by memorizing and quoting Scripture that speaks to that sinful behavior, even while we?re being tempted. We desire to bring joy to Your heart as we live responsibly and cast off that which hinders our spiritual growth. We want to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness so that we will be kingdom servants pursuing righteous living. In Jesus' name...........Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night and many blessings to you.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study:
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Monday January 26, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: A Purpose For Everything
Everything that we go through has a purpose, God desires for us to follow His plan for our lives and not to devise one of our own.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 26-28
You can click on the link above to read the chapters, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2026-28&version=9
God gave specific instructions on how He wanted the Tabernacle to be built, He listed every single detail down to how many loops He wanted on the curtains. Even though we might read it and wonder it's significance every piece is important and has a special purpose from God. Just inside the courtyard which surrounded the Tabernacle stood the Brazen Altar. "And thou shalt make an altar of shi*tim wood, five cubits long, and five cubits broad; the altar shall be foursquare: and the height thereof shall be three cubits. And thou shalt make the horns of it upon the four corners thereof: his horns shall be of the same: and thou shalt overlay it with brass. And thou shalt make his pans to receive his ashes, and his shovels, and his basons, and his fleshhooks, and his firepans: all the vessels thereof thou shalt make of brass. And thou shalt make for it a grate of network of brass; and upon the net shalt thou make four brasen rings in the four corners thereof. And thou shalt put it under the compass of the altar beneath, that the net may be even to the midst of the altar. And thou shalt make staves for the altar, staves of shittim wood, and overlay them with brass. And the staves shall be put into the rings, and the staves shall be upon the two sides of the altar, to bear it. Hollow with boards shalt thou make it: as it was shewed thee in the mount, so shall they make it." (Exodus 27:1-8). Throughout the Bible, brass is a symbol of the judgment of God on sin.
All sacrifices were offered on the Brazen Altar, with its fire which was kindled by an act of God and which was never to go out.In sacrificing an unblemished animal, the Israelite understood that the animal's life was being forfeited in his place because of sins he had committed. He knew that it was only through the sinless animal being slain on his behalf that he was restored to a right relationship with God. The worshiper entered the one door into the outer court and approached the Brazen Altar. Then he placed his hands upon his sacrifice to signify his guilt being transferred to the innocent animal. Since the crucifixion, bodily resurrection, and ascension of Christ, both Jews and Gentiles have but one God-appointed means of cleansing from sin.
The Israelites were limited to priests from the tribe of Levi who were to intercede in worship on behalf of the people. There had to be a cleansing from sin and also a mediator. God chose Moses' brother Aaron and his family, "And take thou unto thee Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him, from among the children of Israel, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office, even Aaron, Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar, Aaron's sons. And thou shalt make holy garments for Aaron thy brother for glory and for beauty." (28:1-2). The heart of every Christian is thrilled to know that our wonderful Lord was both a way for us to be cleansed from sin and is a mediator to God.
Besides the priests, God called others into His service. "And thou shalt speak unto all that are wise hearted, whom I have filled with the spirit of wisdom, that they may make Aaron's garments to consecrate him, that he may minister unto me in the priest's office." (28:3). Still today, there is a wisdom that is not of this world that is given to those who God calls to serve Him. As New Testament Christians, our priority should be to focus on being filled with the Spirit. Our whole being is to be devoted to Christ and to realize that we belong to Him in order to be available for His purposes in our lives.
Today's Psalm: 17:2-4
"Let my sentence come forth from thy presence; let thine eyes behold the things that are equal. Thou hast proved mine heart; thou hast visited me in the night; thou hast tried me, and shalt find nothing; I am purposed that my mouth shall not transgress.Concerning the works of men, by the word of thy lips I have kept me from the paths of the destroyer."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
When I lean on my own understanding I fall prey to the natural man and limit the work of the supernatural. But when I trust You with all my heart I leave no room for second guessing. Today I want to acknowledge Your presence in every area of my life…family, work, relationships, my alone times. You will bring to pass the divine plans You have for me as You direct me in all my ways. In Jesus' name................Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: Ten Commandments
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Saturday January 24, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on teh book of Exodus.
Today's Message: The Ten Commandments
We must not forget about the Ten Commandments no matter how much the nation tries to get us to forget about them. The Law reminds us that none of these relationships with God or man can be ignored.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 20-22
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2020-22&version=9
The Ten Commandments are the most sacred commandments of the Bible because they were written on stone by the finger of God Himself (See Exodus Chapter 31). "And God spake all these words, saying,I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage." (Exodus 20:1-2). They are an expression of the spiritual and moral conduct of the people of God.
Nine are expressed in a negative way, saying "Thou shalt not", six represent the requirements for our relationship with others, and four express the perfection of the Holy, One True God, who alone is to be worshiped. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me.Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; ..............Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain..............Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee. Thou shalt not kill.Thou shalt not commit adultery.Thou shalt not steal.Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's." (20:3-5,7,12-17). In an exclusive, covenant relationship, the Lord God must always have priority in our hearts and be our first consideration, without compromise.
We are warned that it is wrong to steal, whether it is done by shoplifting, cheating on income tax, or failing to work when at work. We also are warned that it is wrong to bear false witness against a neighbor, and it is wrong to commit adultery as well as the practices of witchcraft, sorcery, bestiality, and sacrificing to any god other than the One True God (this includes anything that becomes a priory over God). All who were guilty of these sins were to be put to death immediately. We need to remember that obedience should come from the heart. If we have love toward our neighbor,we will not steal his property, commit adultery with his wife, nor commit fornication with his daughter. We will protect and respect his loved ones because they are the property of God just as we are.
True Christians seek to know more of God and learn that not matter what we have done we have a chance to make things right with Him. What peace we have in knowing that when we do fall short of keeping His Word Jesus is right there to redeem us. "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:" (Romans 3:22-24).
Jesus Christ is Revealed: Through the Ten Commandments.
Jesus was perfect and without sin and also gave is a new Commandment, "A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another." (John 13:34).
Today's Psalm: 29:3
"The voice of the LORD is upon the waters: the God of glory thundereth: the LORD is upon many waters."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We pray that You will empower us to live responsible lives so that we can be living examples of what it means to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. Help us to resist temptations that weaken our resolve to live holy lives by memorizing and quoting Scripture that speaks to that sinful behavior, even while we’re being tempted. We desire to bring joy to Your heart as we live responsibly and cast off that which hinders our spiritual growth. We want to seek first Your Kingdom and Your righteousness so that we will be kingdom servants pursuing righteous living. In Jesus' name...........Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: Tempting God
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Friday January 23, 2009 and we are continuing out studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Tempting God
When we are faced with difficulties it is so easy toput the blame on others and tempt God with our attitude and pride. However, all situations are meant to bring us to God's Will andour will. When we take the time to put our faith in God and let Him provide for us we will see amuch better victory over our circumstances.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 17-19
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: http:/www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s%2017-19&version=9
As the Israelites continued their journey toward the promised land they faced another test of their dependence upon God. Israel had journeyed to Marah where they could not drink the water because it was bitter. Instead of trusting in God they began complaining and threating Moses."And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the LORD, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink.Wherefore the people did chide (blame) with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the LORD?And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? And Moses cried unto the LORD, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me.And the LORD said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go.Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the LORD, saying, Is the LORD among us, or not?" (Exodus 17:1-7). Just as the Israelites were quick to blame Moses for the problems that arise, we too are quick to blame others when difficulties arise. Each time wegripe, complain and blame otherswe are tempting God."Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God." (Matthew 4:7).
Godknew that there was no water there,He directed them to that very place in order for them to put their trust in Him that He would provide for them regardless of how bleak the situation looked.God desires to bring us toa place where we no longer rely upon material and human resources, but rely solely on Him to provide us with the things that we need. The wilderness journey exposed the Israelites' refusal to trust the Lord. God had demonstrated time and time again that He can do anything, but the children of Israel constantly questioned His power to supply their daily needs. This illustrates the fact that God always arranges circumstances in order to test and develop our faith in Him.
Those who are led by the Lord must expect to encounter many unexpected situations that will test their faith in the faithfulness of God. Job or emotional stress, discontent, fault finding, hate, jealousy are allevidence ofthe fleshdemanding its own way. But, more seriously, they are expressions of distrust in the wisdom and goodness of God. It's easy to praise the Lord when our needs are quickly met, but it gets harder whenwe are faced with problems. However, faith is not based on favorable circumstances, but on the Lord Jesus Christ. "For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren." (Romans 8:24-29). The cirumstances we face grow us and conform us into the image of Jesus. He alone gives us the hope and patience to get through the situation and see victory.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: As the Rock that Moses striked to get the water. (Exodus 17:6)
Jesus is the rock that quenches our thirst, "And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ." (I Corinthians 10:4).
Today's Psalm: 95:1
"O come, let us sing unto the LORD: let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We recognize that our endurance and persistence are attitudes derived from a faith-filled life with You. Our endurance is realized by continuing this race though others may drop out making us feel like we run alone. Our persistence is marked by our determination to finish the race though struggles weigh us down and doubts cloud our vision of the finish line.Thank You for marking the race out for us by showing us the great examples of those who cheer us on as we participate in this Christian race. They finished their race on earth through their enduring faith, though they experienced opposition from sinful men.We endure hardships and struggles as discipline from You, our loving Father, that we may share in Your holiness. We look forward to the harvest of righteousness and peace that comes as a result of our persistence in this spiritual marathon.Strengthen our feeble arms and weak knees as we repent of the sin that entangles us. We lay aside everything that drags us down or tempts us to give up and we seek Jesus who is the Rock of our Salvation. In Jesus' name..............Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and weekend and be blessed.
God bless you,
Christina

Bible Study: Living in Fear
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Thursday January 22, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Living in Fear
Many Christian's believe in God, but when situations arise they let fear control them rather than faith. It is important during these times that we seek God, not in criticism, but in faith to help us through our difficulties.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 14-16
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: http:/www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s%2014-16&version=9
The Isrealites were finally freed from slavery in Egypt and on their way to the promised land. They had traveled only a short distance when they saw all the chariots of Pharaoh's army rushing toward them in a desperate effort to recover his slaves. "And it was told the king of Egypt that the people fled: and the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, Why have we done this, that we have let Israel go from serving us?And he made ready his chariot, and took his people with him:And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Egypt, and captains over every one of them. And the LORD hardened the heart of Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he pursued after the children of Israel: and the children of Israel went out with an high hand." (Exodus 14:5-8).
The Isrealites called out for help in fear, hostility, and criticism against Moses. "And when Pharaoh drew nigh, the children of Israel lifted up their eyes, and, behold, the Egyptians marched after them; and they were sore afraid: and the children of Israel cried out unto the LORD.And they said unto Moses, Because there were no graves in Egypt, hast thou taken us away to die in the wilderness? wherefore hast thou dealt thus with us, to carry us forth out of Egypt? Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness. And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever. The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace." (14:10-14). The Israelites had seen the miracles in Egypt that had set them free; yet, they now chose not to trust God and His ability to provide for them. Although Moses could not see how the Lord would save them, he confidently declared, the Lord shall fight for you.
The Israelites should have believed God and trusted in His almighty power and loving care, for they had seen His miracles in Egypt that had set them free. However, when ever they were faced with what seemed to them impossible circumstances, they chose to let fear overwhelm their hearts. While things were going well, there was no apparent difference between the faith of Moses and that of the people. But, the same trial that revealed the Israelites' unbelief also revealed Moses' faith in the Word of God. The same is true today. We have been freed from Satan and the power of sinyet we live in fear when things look impossible.
When tough circumstances arise we must not let fear control us because all we are doing is creating a way for Satan to pull us away from God. God will help us through every situation as long as we put our faith and trust in Him. When you have no where to turn to, seek Him and Him only. He will not only give you peace, but provide a way out of what you are going through. "Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:" (Ephesians 6:14-17).
Jesus Christ is Revealed: Through themanna that fell from heaven.
"And when the dew that lay was gone up, behold, upon the face of the wilderness there lay a small round thing, as small as the hoar frost on the ground. And when the children of Israel saw it, they said one to another, It is manna: for they wist not what it was. And Moses said unto them, This is the bread which the LORD hath given you to eat." (Exodus 16:14-15). Jesus is the bread of life that feeds our hungry souls.
Today's Psalm: 84:11
"For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We pray for relief from our distress,we pray that the light of Your face would shine upon us, for You filled our hearts with peace greater joy as we endure our struggles. You give us a sense of security when we lie down so that we can sleep in peace; for You alone,Lord, make us dwell in safety. We lie down and sleep and we wake again, because You sustain us. We will not live in fear because You will give us relief from all our sorrows. From You,Lord, comes deliverance and You shower Your blessings upon Your people. Thank You for caring for us, for sustaining us, and for providing for us.In Jesus' name...........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and be blessed.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: Saved By The Blood
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Wednesday January 21, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Saved By The Blood.
We are all sinners by nature regardless of how good we try to be, unfortunately the consequencefor sin is death and the one and only way to be saved from death is by the shed of pure blood. Before Jesus we had to constantly sacrifice an animal, but thanks to His blood shed we no longer have to worry about that.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 11-13
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2011-13&version=9
With each miraculous plague, God proved that Egypt's gods were false deities and that He was the One True God who controlsall creation. The final plague of judgment was death. "And the LORD said unto Moses, Yet will I bring one plague more upon Pharaoh, and upon Egypt; afterwards he will let you go hence: when he shall let you go, he shall surely thrust you out hence altogether...............And all the firstborn in the land of Egypt shall die, from the first born of Pharaoh that sitteth upon his throne, even unto the firstborn of the maidservant that is behind the mill; and all the firstborn of beasts. And there shall be a great cry throughout all the land of Egypt, such as there was none like it, nor shall be like it any more. But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel." (Exodus 11:1,5-7). The Egyptians and the Israeliteswere both sinners by nature so the death sentence was passed upon all the first born throughout the land.
However, God lovingly provided a way for all of the Israelites who were obedient to Him to save their firstborn from death. "Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house:..............And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it.................And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is the LORD's passover. For I will pass through the land of Egypt this night, and will smite all the firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I will execute judgment: I am the LORD.And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt." (12:3,7,11-13). This became what is known as the Lord's Passover. God provided a way of deliverance for the Israelites because of His covenant with Abraham, but it was surely not by works of the righteousness they had none. The sentence of death must be executed, but for all who believed in the One True God, a substitute was offered.
The Lord's Passover included a day of atonement which was a way for the Isrealites to atone for their sins, meaningthis was a way to hide all their sins from God's sight. There were numerous daily, weekly, and monthly sin offerings, but the Israelites were still required to observe a full Day of Atonement annually. However, they were only substitute offerings until Jesus became the one True Sacrifice and died for the sins of the world. Since God is holy, He cannot fellowship with man in his sinful state so God has provided His sinless Son as the perfect and complete substitute to die for our sins so we can fellowship with Him as if we are sinless before His eyes. "Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance." (Hebrews 9:12-15).
Today's Psalm: 116:16-18
"O LORD, truly I am thy servant; I am thy servant, and the son of thine handmaid: thou hast loosed my bonds.I will offer to thee the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the LORD.I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Without the shed blood of Your Son, Jesus, we are weighed down by the shackles of sin.It spreads as a disease from our hearts to our minds separating us from our Creator and making us a bond slave to Satan.Thank You for sending Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, who by His intense love and sacrificial death, freed us from the sin that ensnared us.He turned our mourning into dancing as He lifted our condemnation and replaced it with eternal hope.In Jesus' name..........Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night and be blessed.
God Bless you,
Christie
Bible Study: No Compromise
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Tuesday January 20, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: No Compromise
We can not compromise with God in order to live for the world, we must make the choice to either serve Him or serve the world, but be warned God will not be tolerant forever.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 8-10
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%208-10&version=9
While God was in the process of delivering the Israelites, the Egyptians suffered through each of the ten plagues, but the plagues did not affect the Hebrews. Even Pharaoh's magicians recognized who was in control of the plagues. "And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said." (Exodus 8:16-19). Pharaoh's heart was hardened each time he rejected the Word of God, but the more he rejected Him the worse things got for him. The same thing still happens today, those who reject God's Word will find many plagues in their lives, often clueless to fact that God is trying to get them to realize that He is the One True God of all.
The Pharaoh considered himself to be one of the great gods of Egypt, so when Moses requested that the Israelites be permitted to worship the One True God, it was an insult to him. "And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us. And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me. (8:25-27). Pharaoh is symbolic of Satan, as he demanded them to worship God on his own terms. This is typical of how Satan deceives many who may worship the Lord, but continue to live their worldly lifestyle.
If Satan can not succeed, he will try to persuade us to compromise as if we are telling God I will worship You, but when I have the time. The person who is most deceived is the one who believes he can worship the Lord on his own terms. Others who are equally deceived say they will live for Jesus later in life and refuse to give up control of their lives, like Pharaoh. But there comes a day when the time for repentance is past. God alone decides how long He will be insulted and once one is at that point there is no turning back. Therefore, it is of greatest importance that we repent now and stop trying to compromise with God. All we are doing is worshipping the devil and losing out on the promises of God.
Today's Psalm: 37:26-28
"He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off."
Today's Prayer: Psalm 27:4-6
Dear God,
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. In Jesus' name...........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and be blessed.
God bless you,
Christina
Bible Study: On God's Side
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Monday January 19, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: On God's Side.
Once you accept Jesus as your Savior you are on God's side. It is important to study God's Word so that you are able to handle the burdens that will follow as the devil tries to doubt your faith.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 5-7
You can read the chapters here online by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: http./www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s%205-7&version=9
Moses and Aaron went before the Pharoh as God commanded and told him to let the people of Isreal go. "And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness." (Exodus 5:1). Instead of the Israelites being freed from slavery, their pain and suffering were increased. "And Pharaoh said, Behold, the people of the land now are many, and ye make them rest from their burdens. And Pharaoh commanded the same day the taskmasters of the people, and their officers, saying, Ye shall no more give the people straw to make brick, as heretofore: let them go and gather straw for themselves. And the tale of the bricks, which they did make heretofore, ye shall lay upon them; ye shall not diminish ought thereof: for they be idle; therefore they cry, saying, Let us go and sacrifice to our God." (5:5-8). Pharaoh persisted in keeping the Israelites under his cruel authority. However, as had been foretold, the judgment of God was poured forth on each false Egyptian deity, on every household of the Egyptians, on Pharaoh's son, and eventually on Pharaoh himself and his armies.
Moses and Aaron not only experienced ridicule and resistance from Pharaoh, but they were also criticized by the Isrealites. "And they met Moses and Aaron, who stood in the way, as they came forth from Pharaoh: And they said unto them, The LORD look upon you, and judge; because ye have made our savour to be abhorred in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to put a sword in their hand to slay us. And Moses returned unto the LORD, and said, LORD, wherefore hast thou so evil entreated this people? why is it that thou hast sent me? For since I came to Pharaoh to speak in thy name, he hath done evil to this people; neither hast thou delivered thy people at all." (5:20-23). Moses' immediate reaction was to blame God, he even questioned Him.
When Moses cried out, Why, Lord?, God merely reminded him of who He was. "Then the LORD said unto Moses, Now shalt thou see what I will do to Pharaoh: for with a strong hand shall he let them go, and with a strong hand shall he drive them out of his land. And God spake unto Moses, and said unto him, I am the LORD: And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to them. And I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their pilgrimage, wherein they were strangers. And I have also heard the groaning of the children of Israel, whom the Egyptians keep in bondage; and I have remembered my covenant. Wherefore say unto the children of Israel, I am the LORD, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm, and with great judgments: And I will take you to me for a people, and I will be to you a God: and ye shall know that I am the LORD your God, which bringeth you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians. And I will bring you in unto the land, concerning the which I did swear to give it to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob; and I will give it you for an heritage: I am the LORD." (6:1-8). What is important for us to know is that God is the unchangeable, loving, Almighty God of truth.
How often in life do our questions far out number our answers. God has never once failed to keep His Word; but, seldom are His promises fulfilled as soon as we expect, and almost never in the way we think. Whenever God is ready to do something through us for others there is often much opposition and suffering. This is not done to punish us, it's done to get us closer to Him. The Israelites had an outward need to be freed from slavery, but they had an inward need to exercise their faith in the Word of God. We too when burdened need to exercise our faith in the Word of God, everything that we have gone through and will face has happened in the Bible. It is our guide that leads us to victory through any suffering that we are faced with.
Once God begins to move in our lives to free us from sin or to use us to witness to others, Satan attempts to frustrate God's purposes and discourage the child of faith from fulfilling the will of God. Don't become discouraged about the Word of God or when you are ignored by those who are preoccupied with earthly matters. Do not be surprised when Satan comes up against you. He didn't have to fight you when you were on his side, but now that you are no longer under his control he will not stop fighting until he gets you back. The great thing is that God is on your side and no matter what happens He will protect you.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: As the Redeemer from the bondage of sin.
"I will rid you out of their bondage, and I will redeem you with a stretched out arm," Exodus 6:6b. Jesus Christ is our redeemer who saved us from the bondage of sin.
Today's Psalm: 34:22
"The LORDredeemeth thesoul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate."
Today's Prayer: Psalm 31:1-5
Dear God,
In thee, O LORD, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed: deliver me in thy righteousness. Bow down thine ear to me; deliver me speedily: be thou my strong rock, for an house of defence to save me. For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me. Pull me out of the net that they have laid privily for me: for thou art my strength. Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O LORD God of truth. In Jesus' name............Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless You,

Bible Study: Yielding to God
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Sunday January 18, 2009, we are beginning our studies on the book of Exodus.
Today's Message: Yielding to God
Today we will learn the importance eliminating self will and yielding to God's Will. God has a purpose for each and every one of us and will use every experience as a way to prepare and bring us closer to Him to follow His Will for our lives.
Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 1-4
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodu s%201-4&version=9
The book of Exodus is the second book of the Old Testament and contains fourty chapters. The author of the book is Moses and it was written to Isreal. The purpose of the book was to record their deliverance from slavery in Egypt and document theit purpose for existance as a nation. What we are to learn from the book is that Salvation comes only through the blood of the Lamb of God, Jesus Christ.
After the death of Joseph and his brothers a new Pharoh took over in the land of Egypt, he no recollection of Joseph and feared the multitudes of Isrealites among the land. The once privileged Israelites were reduced to bitter slavery. "And Joseph died, and all his brethren, and all that generation. And the children of Israel were fruitful, and increased abundantly, and multiplied, and waxed exceeding mighty; and the land was filled with them. Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph. And he said unto his people, Behold, the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we: Come on, let us deal wisely with them; lest they multiply, and it come to pass, that, when there falleth out any war, they join also unto our enemies, and fight against us, and so get them up out of the land." (Exodus 1:6-10). All of God's children are feared by the world and they will try anything to keep us captive.
The severity of their fear became obvious when Pharoh demanded that all new Hebrew sons be killed. "And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah: And he said, When ye do the office of a midwife to the Hebrew women, and see them upon the stools; if it be a son, then ye shall kill him: but if it be a daughter, then she shall live. But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children) alive." (1:15-17). To fear God does not mean to be afraid of Him, it means to have respect for Him.
The midwives knew that God was with them and by their faith they were able to save the child, Moses who would be the great leader of the Isrealites. "And there went a man of the house of Levi, and took to wife a daughter of Levi. And the woman conceived, and bare a son: and when she saw him that he was a goodly child, she hid him three months. And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink...............And the daughter of Pharaoh came down to wash herself at the river; and her maidens walked along by the river's side; and when she saw the ark among the flags, she sent her maid to fetch it. And when she had opened it, she saw the child: and, behold, the babe wept. And she had compassion on him, and said, This is one of the Hebrews' children...............And Pharaoh's daughter said unto her, Take this child away, and nurse it for me, and I will give thee thy wages. And the women took the child, and nursed it. And the child grew, and she brought him unto Pharaoh's daughter, and he became her son. And she called his name Moses: and she said, Because I drew him out of the water." (2:1-3,5-6,9-10).
Now, Moses enjoyed the first fourty years of his life in the kings palace, but all that changed when he killed an Egyptian man who was cruel to a couple of Isrealites. He fled as he feared for his life and resided in the land of Midian. It was there, fourty years later that God spoke to Moses through a bruning bush. "And the angel of the LORD appeared unto him in a flame of fire out of the midst of a bush: and he looked, and, behold, the bush burned with fire, and the bush was not consumed. And Moses said, I will now turn aside, and see this great sight, why the bush is not burnt. And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here am I." (2:1-4). It must have seemed to Moses a waste of 40 years to do nothing of importance. But, with the Lord, such time is never wasted. Moses could never have learned humility or been able to come closer to God in an Egyptian palace. He was too busy and too important. However, both experiences were vital in preparing him to be the person God could use to lead His people out of Egypt.
The wisdom of the world cannot qualify us to make right decisions in life We must be taught by the Holy Spirit through reading His Word and being obedient to its truth. It is the Holy Spirit's anointing on what we do and say that makes our lives worthwhile. Like Moses, our most basic need is the removal of self-sufficiency. It was spiritually necessary for Moses to tend sheep in order for him to eliminate self-will and fully yield to God's will.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
I realize that at times I forget that all things work together for Your good. Every experience in my life is one meant to help me grow closer to You and follow Your Will so that I am protected and safe from the world. Lord, bless me with the wisdom and understanding that I need to know You Will for me, help me to search the Scriptures to know exactly what that is so I am one step closer insead of two steps away from You. Help me also to remember to seek You and ask You daily for my needs through prayer as you always say that I have not because I ask not. In Jesus' name............Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and weekend.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Guided by God
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Friday January 16, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Guided by God
It is important that our first priority before making any life decision should be to seek God for His guidance. Often we make decisions based on our own feelings and the results can bring many consequences. When we take the time to seek God before we do anything we not only follow His will we also save ourselves from many disappointments.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 46-48
You can read the chapters online by clicking the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2046-48&version=9
Our lives are created to focus our attention on the guidance of God, through faith and trust in Him we are able to endure the tests that are set before us. God is able to take the most pathetic situations and turn them into the most wonderful blessings we have ever imagined. When Jacob learned that Joseph was still alive he did not rush for a grand reunion because he knew that God had planned for his people to live in Canaan, not in Egypt. So he waited on conformation from God before he headed to Egypt. "And Israel took his journey with all that he had, and came to Beersheba, and offered sacrifices unto the God of his father Isaac. And God spake unto Israel in the visions of the night, and said, Jacob, Jacob. And he said, Here am I. And he said, I am God, the God of thy father: fear not to go down into Egypt; for I will there make of thee a great nation: I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again: and Joseph shall put his hand upon thine eyes. And Jacob rose up from Beersheba: and the sons of Israel carried Jacob their father, and their little ones, and their wives, in the wagons which Pharaoh had sent to carry him. And they took their cattle, and their goods, which they had gotten in the land of Canaan, and came into Egypt, Jacob, and all his seed with him: His sons, and his sons' sons with him, his daughters, and his sons' daughters, and all his seed brought he with him into Egypt." (Genesis 46:1-7). Since the will of God remained uppermost in Jacob's heart, he needed assurance from God concerning his journey to Egypt. We too need to seek God in making major decisions regardless of who we want to be with.
The Lord assured Jacob that their sojourn in Egypt was not to be a permanent one, but that it would be a time of preparing his family to become a great nation. Earthly life is a time of preparation for an eternity with God. What gets priority, and how we live, is an expression of our preparation for eternity. Our eyes should not be set on worldly securities and personal achievements, but foremost on being the person God wants us to be in order to accomplish the purpose for which He created us. God will direct our paths to the best life we can possibly have as long as we let Him guide us.
The life of Jacob gives the believer insight into the sovereignty of God, who assists, strengthens, and sustains all who are faithful to Him. As the years in Egypt passed, Jacob came to see how God had been directing, protecting, and providing for him all of his life.
This remarkable man of God received much abuse throughout his life, but God awarded more blessings on Jacob than any other man in Old Testament history. The name of Abraham, the father of the faithful, appears over 300 times in Scripture. The name Isaac appears only 131 times, often only in conjunction with Abraham and Jacob. Jacob, however, is mentioned over 370 times, and his new name Israel, referring to both himself and his descendants, appears over 2500 times.
Today's Psalm: 119:4-6
"Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments."
Today's Prayer:
Enjoy the rest of your day/night.
God bless you,

Bible Study: All in God's Hands
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Thursday January 15, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: It's All In God's Hands
The circumstances of our lives change day by day, but much of life is dealing with the good and the bad times of our lives and responding to them properly. By putting our trust and faith in God He will lead us to overcome any situation that we are faced with.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 43-45
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2043-45&version=9
As we learned from yesterday's reading, there was a great famine throughout the land of Canaan and Jacob was forced to send his sons to Egypt to get food. Unknowingly, this would be the first time they would see their brother Joseph, who was the second most powerful ruler of Egypt, since they sold him into slavery. "Now when Jacob saw that there was corn in Egypt, Jacob said unto his sons, Why do ye look one upon another? And he said, Behold, I have heard that there is corn in Egypt: get you down thither, and buy for us from thence; that we may live, and not die. And Joseph's ten brethren went down to buy corn in Egypt. But Benjamin, Joseph's brother, Jacob sent not with his brethren; for he said, Lest peradventure mischief befall him. And the sons of Israel came to buy corn among those that came: for the famine was in the land of Canaan. And Joseph was the governor over the land, and he it was that sold to all the people of the land: and Joseph's brethren came, and bowed down themselves before him with their faces to the earth. And Joseph saw his brethren, and he knew them, but made himself strange unto them, and spake roughly unto them; and he said unto them, Whence come ye? And they said, From the land of Canaan to buy food." (Genesis 42:1-7). Joseph talked through an interpreter so his brothers were unaware that he understood everything that they were saying.
After questioning them about their family, Joseph had his brothers imprisoned. As they sat there they recalled how their younger brother Joseph had pleaded with them not to be sold as a slave to the Ishmaelite traders on their way to Egypt. Now, they humbly confessed what a terrible act of cruelty they had committed toward him. "And they said one to another, We are verily guilty concerning our brother, in that we saw the anguish of his soul, when he besought us, and we would not hear; therefore is this distress come upon us." (42:21). Joseph was not trying to get revenge on his brothers, but give them time to think about their sinful past. Three days later Joseph let them go, except for Simeon, and gave strict orders that they must bring their youngest brother Benjamin when they returned, or they would not be allowed to buy any more food nor will he release Simeon.
Jacob was deeply distressed about the demand to bring Benjamin to Egypt, but when the food ran low he realized that he must do as Joseph demanded. "And it came to pass, when they had eaten up the corn which they had brought out of Egypt, their father said unto them, Go again, buy us a little food............ And their father Israel (Jacob) said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds: And take double money in your hand; and the money that was brought again in the mouth of your sacks, carry it again in your hand; peradventure it was an oversight: Take also your brother, and arise, go again unto the man: And God Almighty give you mercy before the man, that he may send away your other brother, and Benjamin. If I be bereaved of my children, I am bereaved. And the men took that present, and they took double money in their hand and Benjamin; and rose up, and went down to Egypt, and stood before Joseph." (Genesis 43:2,11-15). When faced with difficult decisions we must be willing to let God handle the situation and do what is necessary to follow His will. We may not understand why we need to do ceratin things, but God has a purpose for every one of them.
When they returned with Benjamin Joseph sent for them to come to his home. "And when Joseph saw Benjamin with them, he said to the ruler of his house, Bring these men home, and slay, and make ready; for these men shall dine with me at noon. And the man did as Joseph bade; and the man brought the men into Joseph's house." (43:16-17). Joseph finally revealed to them who he was. "Then Joseph could not refrain himself before all them that stood by him; and he cried, Cause every man to go out from me. And there stood no man with him, while Joseph made himself known unto his brethren. And he wept aloud: and the Egyptians and the house of Pharaoh heard. And Joseph said unto his brethren, I am Joseph; doth my father yet live? And his brethren could not answer him; for they were troubled at his presence. And Joseph said unto his brethren, Come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life For these two years hath the famine been in the land: and yet there are five years, in the which there shall neither be earing nor harvest. And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt." (Genesis 45:1-8). Can you imagine their shock when Joseph said, I am your brother? For years, they had deceived their father and had escaped all accountability for their cruel sin against him and now they were forced to face their brother for their actions.
Joseph's brothers are an example that no sin goes unpunishable, we are all accountalbe for our actions regardless of how long it takes. Many of the struggles we face today can be traced back from something that we have done years ago. God brings us to the place where we no longer attempt to defend ourselves, but confess that we are undeserving sinners. However, God is merciful and forgiving, once we call on Him for forgiveness the sin is forgotten, never to be brought up again.
A lesson can also be learned from Joseph, he held no hatred or bitterness toward his brothers for what they had done to him. Although his brothers were cruel, God used their wickedness to fulfill His will for Joseph and blessed him abundantly for it. Regardless of how cruel someone has been we must be willing to forgive them, I know it can be hard, but if we do not all we are doing is hurting ourselves. We create a viscious cycle that is not only dangerous to our minds, bodies, and spirits, but to those around us as well. It is a command from God that we are to forgive those who wronged us if we are to be forgiven by Him. "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses." (Matthew 6:14-15). You do not have to worry about whether or not one will receive the justice deserved for what they have done, God will handle it. It may seem as though they are getting away with things, but they are not, it's all is God's hands.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: Through Joseph's dealings with his brothers.
"And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you that sent me hither, but God: and he hath made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt." (Genesis 45:7-8). Christ deals with us in such a way as to bring about our confession of sin and a recognition of His forgiving love.
Today's Psalm: 85:2-3
"Thou hast forgiven the iniquity of thy people, thou hast covered all their sin. Selah. Thou hast taken away all thy wrath: thou hast turned thyself from the fierceness of thine anger."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
There are circumatances in my life that I just do not seem to understand, but I know that You have a plan and purpose for them. Lord, pour the power of Your Holy Spirit upon me and bless me with the peace and comfort I need to endure all the trials I am facing. Bless me with understanding and forgive me for holding on to things that are of the past. Help me to follow Your will and lead me away from all emotions that try to get me to lose my faith and trust in You. In Jesus' name..........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and be blessed.
God bless you,
Christina

Bible Study: Preparing The Way
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Wednesday January 14, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Preparing The Way
Our tests and trials are never allowed just for the sake of it, God always has a higher purpose for our lives that He is preparing us for through them.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 40-42
You can read today's chapters by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2040-42&version=9
It had been thirteen years since Joseph's brothers sold him into slavery. Following that horrible ordeal, he experienced many painful disappointments, but regardless of his many adverse circumstances, Joseph maintained a steadfast loyalty to God.
At the age of 30, Joseph was called to interpret Pharaoh's dreams, Joseph confidently told Pharaoh that God ruled over the affairs of earth. "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, I have dreamed a dream, and there is none that can interpret it: and I have heard say of thee, that thou canst understand a dream to interpret it. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace..............And Joseph said unto Pharaoh, The dream of Pharaoh is one: God hath shewed Pharaoh what he is about to do.................And for that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice; it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass." (Genesis 41:15-16,25,32).
Because the Lord interpreted the dreams through Joseph, Pharaoh acknowledged him as the wisest man in Egypt. This former outcast then received Pharaoh's own ring as a sign of his new authority as prime minister of the land of Egypt. "And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art:
Thou shalt be over my house, and according unto thy word shall all my people be ruled: only in the throne will I be greater than thou. And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt. And Pharaoh took off his ring from his hand, and put it upon Joseph's hand, and arrayed him in vestures of fine linen, and put a gold chain about his neck;
And he made him to ride in the second chariot which he had; and they cried before him, Bow the knee: and he made him ruler over all the land of Egypt." (41:39-43).
The life of Joseph is a reminder to all of us that the enemies of God can not defeat the person who desires to be obedient to Him, regardless of what circumstances we face. God is in control of the affairs of our lives, even when we remain faithful to Him, we may endure months, or even years of hardship as though He does not care about us nor will do anything to get us out of those circumstances. It is during times like these when God is preparing us, He not only uses them to draw us closer to Him, but gets us ready for the blessings in store for us when they come to pass.
There are no shortcuts to spiritual maturity or to prepare us for being used by the Lord. The discipline of hardship is necessary to develop spiritual strength, but it is never one second longer than needed to develop His plan for our lives. "Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:31-33).
Jesus Christ is Revealed: By the wisdom of Joseph.
"And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, Forasmuch as God hath shewed thee all this, there is none so discreet and wise as thou art" (Genesis 41:39). Jesus holds all wisdom and knowledge and gives it to those who seek it. "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge." (Colossians 2:2-3).
Today's Psalm: 104:31
"The glory of the LORD shall endure for ever: the LORD shall rejoice in his works."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We are mindful that we not only fall short of Your glory, but we also fall short of understanding. Understanding all that You want to teach us in this life and the life yet to come. But we draw near to You with a sincere heart as we study Your truths and seek to apply them with understanding to our minds and hearts. This comes about as we read the Scriptures, as we meditate in prayer, as we contemplate Your holy character, and even as we make wrong decisions that force us to reaccess our actions and go back to Your infinite wisdom and understanding. As we do so we hold on to the hope we profess, for You are faithful in all You say and in all You do. In Jesus' name..........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and be blessed.
God bless you,
Christina

Bible Study: A Test of Faith
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Tuesday January 13, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message:
A Test of Faith. During our walk with God we will be tested to show our true faith as well as increase that faith. The Bible teaches us that we should not be ashamed if we suffer for doing the right thing, shame comes when we suffer for our wrongs.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 37-39
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work for you you can cop and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2037-39&version=9
Joseph was the only one of Jacob's 12 sons who expressed an interest in spiritual things. He was deeply troubled about his older brothers' evil conduct while away from home. At 17 years of age he reported to his father the evil things they were doing. "And Jacob dwelt in the land wherein his father was a stranger, in the land of Canaan. These are the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brethren; and the lad was with the sons of Bilhah, and with the sons of Zilpah, his father's wives: and Joseph brought unto his father their evil report. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. 4And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him." (Genesis 37:1-4). The fact that Joseph was born to Jacob of his old age, and possibly because of Joseph's concern for his brothers spiritual well-being, he was influenced to love him more than the rest of his sons.
Many people are discouraged from exposing a persons wrongdoing, they may let their feelings get in the way or say they do not want to become invloved. The fact is that when we witness wrongdoing we come involved and in some ways encourage them even more by letting them continue. Joseph possessed spiritual integrity and was willing to face abuse from his brothers for exposing their evil ways. We too need to show the same spiritual integrity to those we witness in evil doing.
Because of Jacob's love for Joseph his brothers envied him, but that envy soon turned to hatred when Joseph shared his prophetic dreams with them. "And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words." (37:6-8). Joseph's brothers must have truly believed that his dreams were in fact prophetic since they did not disregard them and youthful nonsense. They plotted to kill him, but then sold him to Egyptian slaves.
There was no doubt that Joseph's faith was being tested, although innocent, he sufferd as though he was a criminal. God tests our loyalty to Him by bringing circumstances into our lives that we may not understand, but this is His means of testing our patience as well as perfecting our faith in Him.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: Genesis 37:28
By Joseph, who was rejected by his own brothers, sold for 20 pieces of silver to Gentiles and unjustly imprisoned, but who eventually became their savior and a world ruler. Jesus was sold for 30 pieces of silver, imprisoned, crucified, and became our Savior and soon will return to rule the world.
Today's Psalm: 105:3-4
"Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD. Seek the LORD, and his strength: seek his face evermore."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
I know that many of the circumstances in life are so uncertain. The solutions to our problems can be very perplexing and seem beyond our grasp. There are many things about tomorrow that we don't seem to understand, but we know Who holds tomorrow, and we do know Who holds our hand. Thank you, God, that You don't expect us to have all the right answers or to fully understand all that concerns us. You simply want us to trust You as we hold on to Your unchanging hand while You go before us making our paths straight. Watch over us, guide us, and abide in us. Help us to grow closer to You and increase our faith in You no matter what circumstances we face. In Jesus' name.......Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and be blessed.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: Train A Child
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Monday January 12, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Train A Child by God's Word.
We seldom realize the effects of our disobedience carries on to our children. As Christian's, it is important to train a child by the Word of God. Our best and only defense is to read and obey all of the Word of God.

Jacob's one and only daughter was defiled and her brothers schemed to get revenge on the man. Dinah's brothers Simeon and Levi, violently took out their revenge upon the inhabitants of the city, murdering and destroying everything that they saw. "And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land. And when Shechem the son of Hamor the Hivite, prince of the country, saw her, he took her, and lay with her, and defiled her..............And it came to pass on the third day, when they were sore, that two of the sons of Jacob, Simeon and Levi, Dinah's brethren, took each man his sword, and came upon the city boldly, and slew all the males. And they slew Hamor and Shechem his son with the edge of the sword, and took Dinah out of Shechem's house, and went out. The sons of Jacob came upon the slain, and spoiled the city, because they had defiled their sister." (Genesis 34:1-2,25-27).
Godly parents often become so involved with achieving material goals that they neglect to train their children in a godly manner, often neglecting to teach them spiritual responsibilities dur ing their teachable years. This often results in worldly attractions gaining control of their children's hearts and leads to heartbreaking consequences. Proper training can be accomplished only by teaching them to read and obey the Word of God.
We can learn from Jacob that material success is no assurance that we are in the will of God. The greatest lesson we can learn from Jacob's tragedies is that he didn't give up when his situation looked hopeless, instead, he turned to God. "And God said unto Jacob, Arise, go up to Bethel, and dwell there: and make there an altar unto God, that appeared unto thee when thou fleddest from the face of Esau thy brother. Then Jacob said unto his household, and to all that were with him, Put away the strange gods that are among you, and be clean, and change your garments: And let us arise, and go up to Bethel; and I will make there an altar unto God, who answered me in the day of my distress, and was with me in the way which I went." (35:1-3).
There were thre things that Jacob said to his family that are important for us learn as well.
1. Put away the strange gods. Strange gods are anything that takes us away from following God's commands, this can be a hobby, job, or even a person. Old sinful habits must be forsaken in order to get right with God. "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." (I Corinthians 8:6). Place God at the center of all that you do and you will set an example for your child to follow.
2. Be clean and change your garments. We are to be cleansed by the blood of Christ, when we repent and call on Jesus He will wash us clean and give us new garments. "No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse." (Matthew 9:16).
3. Worship only God. God needs to be at the center of everything that we do, He wants us to enjoy life, but He also wants us to seek Him and obey Him while doing so. "And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (Luke 4:8). Participation in church worship is a very important way in which God can speak to us, through Bible study, hymns of praise, sermons, and presenting our tithes and offerings, and in participating in the sacred sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper.
We too need to be reminded of how we began our walk with the Lord, trusting Him for help, strength, and guidance. But, as time passes and God continues to bless us, often we lose the sense of urgency or the same simple dependence upon God that we had in the beginning. That is when God brings trials into our lives in order to get us to see that we need Him always, not just when we are weary.
Today's Psalm: 32:7-8
"Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
You are the Lord of my life, thank You for reminding me that I need to place You at the center of all that I do. I know in doing so that I will be blessed far beyond what I even image. Help me to stay faithful to Your Word and to obey Your commands so that I am an example to those who are around me. Help me to be a good servant and teacher. In Jesus' name.........Amen.
Have a blessed day/night.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: God Answers
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Sunday January 11, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: God Answers All Prayers. It is important to realize that God answers all prayer in Him own timing. Often we get discouraged and give up, thinking that God is not listening, but He is and knows exactly what we need. Wait on God and you will see the blessings unfold.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 31-33
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, it the link does not work you can copy ans paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2031-33&version=9
Laban and his sons took advantage of the blessings that they received while Jacob was there, they became greedy and deceitful which resulted in their having a hostile attitude toward Jacob, the servant of God. "And he heard the words of Laban's sons, saying, Jacob hath taken away all that was our father's; and of that which was our father's hath he gotten all this glory. And Jacob beheld the countenance of Laban, and, behold, it was not toward him as before. And the LORD said unto Jacob, Return unto the land of thy fathers, and to thy kindred; and I will be with thee." (Genesis 31:1-3). We as Christian's are said to be the best workers on the planet and for that reason we often get deceived. It is important to know that even in the work that we do that God is with us and He will direct our paths away from those who deceive us.
God reminded Jacob of his earlier experience at the same hallowed place where he had received confidence that God would protect and direct him. "And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I. And he said, Lift up now thine eyes, and see, all the rams which leap upon the cattle are ringstraked, speckled, and grisled: for I have seen all that Laban doeth unto thee. I am the God of Bethel, where thou anointedst the pillar, and where thou vowedst a vow unto me: now arise, get thee out from this land, and return unto the land of thy kindred." (31:11-13). God often talks to us in our dreams, if you wake up often wondering why your dreamt that dream, ask God to reveal what it is that He wants you to know. He will often answer you in Scripture. Regardless of our circumstances God is always with us and will lead us out of our troubles.
Now, after 20 years Jacob took his wives and children and headed back to the land of Canaan. "Then Jacob rose up, and set his sons and his wives upon camels; And he carried away all his cattle, and all his goods which he had gotten, the cattle of his getting, which he had gotten in Padanaram, for to go to Isaac his father in the land of Canaan." (31:17-18).
Jacob had mixed emotions and fears concerning this call to obey God and return to his native land where he knew that he must face his brother Esau, who had no fear of God and who had angrily vowed to kill him before he left. Esau, was quickly approaching with 400 of his men. "And Jacob sent messengers before him to Esau his brother unto the land of Seir, the country of Edom. And he commanded them, saying, Thus shall ye speak unto my lord Esau; Thy servant Jacob saith thus, I have sojourned with Laban, and stayed there until now: And I have oxen, and asses, flocks, and menservants, and womenservants: and I have sent to tell my lord, that I may find grace in thy sight. And the messengers returned to Jacob, saying, We came to thy brother Esau, and also he cometh to meet thee, and four hundred men with him. Then Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed: and he divided the people that was with him, and the flocks, and herds, and the camels, into two bands; And said, If Esau come to the one company, and smite it, then the other company which is left shall escape." (Genesis 32:3-8). He hastily divided his wives, children, and flocks into two groups, reasoning that if Esau should come upon one camp and destroy it, the remaining camp would escape in the opposite direction.
Jacob recognized his helplessness and separated himself from everyone else and began to pray earnestly. "And Jacob said, O God of my father Abraham, and God of my father Isaac, the LORD which saidst unto me, Return unto thy country, and to thy kindred, and I will deal well with thee: I am not worthy of the least of all the mercies, and of all the truth, which thou hast shewed unto thy servant; for with my staff I passed over this Jordan; and now I am become two bands. Deliver me, I pray thee, from the hand of my brother, from the hand of Esau: for I fear him, lest he will come and smite me, and the mother with the children." (32:9-11). All answers to our prayers are dependent upon this spiritual insight. When we go before God humbled and feeling despair that is when we feel coser to God than ever and that is truly when prayers are anwered. There is a lesson to learn from Jacob: first, we need to know what God has said and then, we need to remind the Lord that we are relying on His promises. But most important, Jacob was praying for the future fulfillment of the Covenant promise that God had made to His grandfather Abraham.
God answers all prayers, it may seem as if He does not, but He does. There are three factors in prayers being answered:
1. No, often God will not answer a prayer that will harm yourself or others. Think about what you are asking Him, could it cause harm to you, someone else, or could it even keep you away from God all together.
2. Slow, often God is preparing us to be able to handle our prayer being answered. Be patient, God is with you and waits for the perfect time to give you what you are asking for.
3. Go, often God answers prayers in His own way, not in a way in which we expect. Think about blessings the that are before you, they are often far better than what we orginally ask Him for.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: As the Angel of God who guides.
"And the angel of God spake unto me in a dream, saying, Jacob: And I said, Here am I." (Genesis 31:11). The Angel speaks not merely in the Name of God but as God, leaving no doubt that He is the Lord Jesus in His preincarnate state.
Today's Psalm: 37:6-8
"And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, I know that You are with me and know exactly what I need. Today I ask You for the patience I need for my prayers to be answered. Give me wisdom and understanding and help me to know that what I am asking is something that I truly need and will give glory to You. I praise You, Lord for You are my Rock, my Shield, and my Protector for any and all evil that tries to take me away from You. In Jesus' name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night.
God Bless You,
Christina

Bible Study: Follow God's Directions
Hello Everyone,
Today is Saturday January 10, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Follow God's Directions. When we make the choice to follow the directions that God has given us we will follow a journey that is far beyond anything that we imagine.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 38-30
You can read today's chapters by clicking on the link above, if it does not work you can copy and paste this link into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2028-30&version=9
When Isaac realized that God had overruled his scheme to give the God-ordained birthright of Jacob to Esau, he trembled. He quickly conferred with Rebekah, not to accuse her of any wrongdoing, but to decide how best to plan for Jacob's future. If Jacob violated the Word of God in marrying an idol-worshiping woman, as Esau had done then he would have not received the blessings that God had promised.
Isaac openly acknowledged that Jacob was the one God had chosen to receive the birthright blessing and once again conferred on him the sacred Abrahamic Covenant blessing. "And Isaac called Jacob, and blessed him, and charged him, and said unto him, Thou shalt not take a wife of the daughters of Canaan. Arise, go to Padanaram, to the house of Bethuel thy mother's father; and take thee a wife from thence of the daughers of Laban thy mother's brother. And God Almighty bless thee, and make thee fruitful, and multiply thee, that thou mayest be a multitude of people; And give thee the blessing of Abraham, to thee, and to thy seed with thee; that thou mayest inherit the land wherein thou art a stranger, which God gave unto Abraham." (Genesis 28:1-4). This blessing was an obvious admission of how wrong Isaac had been in his attempt to defraud Jacob.
Jacob journeyed hundreds of miles on foot, fleeing from the murderous threat of his brother, traveling through a strange heathen land over paths he had never traveled, and facing an uncertain future. Little did he realize that he was being directed by God and would one day be blessed with twelve sons who would be used of God to head the twelve tribes forming the mighty nation of Israel that God had foretold to Abraham.
Jacob went on his journey to Padanaram, but litte did he realize that God was with him and directing his path. He soon found out in a dream, "And Jacob went out from Beersheba, and went toward Haran. And he lighted upon a certain place, and tarried there all night, because the sun was set; and he took of the stones of that place, and put them for his pillows, and lay down in that place to sleep. And he dreamed, and behold a ladder set up on the earth, and the top of it reached to heaven: and behold the angels of God ascending and descending on it. And, behold, the LORD stood above it, and said, I am the LORD God of Abraham thy father, and the God of Isaac: the land whereon thou liest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed; And thy seed shall be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be blessed. And, behold, I am with thee, and will keep thee in all places whither thou goest, and will bring thee again into this land; for I will not leave thee, until I have done that which I have spoken to thee of. And Jacob awaked out of his sleep, and he said, Surely the LORD is in this place; and I knew it not." (28:10-16). Since Jacob had left, it appeared that Esau would receive the family wealth, but Jacob had something far more priceless, the birthright of God's promise.
Esau was quick to blame Jacob for his trouble, he failed to realize that the choices he made himself reflected not only him, but those around him for generations to come. Esau is typical of sinners who irresponsibly blame someone else for their making choices for selfish reasons. Isaac too had his own motives when he tried to prevent Jacob from receiving God's promise. He lived 43 years after trying to sabatoge God's plan, but there is no record of him being used again of God. Jacob however, was remarkable blessed from the time he left home.
Without a map or companion, but according to the exact plan of God, Jacob journeyed of more than 500 miles and arrived safely in Padanaram. God marvelously guided him to Rachel and the home of hismother's father, where he was received with a warm welcome. "Then Jacob went on his journey, and came into the land of the people of the east. And he looked, and behold a well in the field, and, lo, there were three flocks of sheep lying by it; for out of that well they watered the flocks: and a great stone was upon the well's mouth. And thither were all the flocks gathered: and they rolled the stone from the well's mouth, and watered the sheep, and put the stone again upon the well's mouth in his place. And Jacob said unto them, My brethren, whence be ye? And they said, Of Haran are we. 5And he said unto them, Know ye Laban the son of Nahor? And they said, We know him. And he said unto them, Is he well? And they said, He is well: and, behold, Rachel his daughter cometh with the sheep...........And Jacob told Rachel that he was her father's brother, and that he was Rebekah's son: and she ran and told her father. And it came to pass, when Laban heard the tidings of Jacob his sister's son, that he ran to meet him, and embraced him, and kissed him, and brought him to his house. And he told Laban all these things." (29:1-6,12-13).
Jesus Christ is Revealed: By Joseph who was born to save and preserve his people, "And God remembered Rachel, and God hearkened to her, and opened her womb. And she conceived, and bare a son; and said, God hath taken away my reproach: And she called his name Joseph; and said, The LORD shall add to me another son." Genesis 30:22-24). Jesus was born in order to offer salvation to all mankind.
Today's Psalm: 23:6
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Have a wonderful day/night and weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina
Bible Study: Spiritual Blessings
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Friday January 9, 2009 and today we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Spiritual Blessings. All children of God are descendents of Abraham and receive spiritual blessings, but we must be willing to do what it takes to get them. It is not too late for us to introduce godly spiritual values to our children or someone else's as long as we have them ourselves.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 25-27
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work on your browser you can copy and paste this one to it: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2025-27&version=9
Isaac pleaded to God for a child and He blessed him and Rebekah with twin boys, Esau and Jacob. Even before they were born they were fighting in the womb, "And Isaac intreated (pleaded) the LORD for his wife, because she was barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived. And the children struggled together within her; and she said, If it be so, why am I thus? And she went to enquire of the LORD. And the LORD said unto her, Two nations are in thy womb, and two manner of people shall be separated from thy bowels; and the one people shall be stronger than the other people; and the elder shall serve the younger. And when her days to be delivered were fulfilled, behold, there were twins in her womb. And the first came out red, all over like an hairy garment; and they called his name Esau. And after that came his brother out, and his hand took hold on Esau's heel; and his name was called Jacob: and Isaac was threescore years old when she bare them." (25:21-26).
Now, Isaac loved Esau, who was hunter and Rebekah loved Jacob, who rather cook the food than hunt for it. "And the boys grew: and Esau was a cunning hunter, a man of the field; and Jacob was a plain man, dwelling in tents. And Isaac loved Esau, because he did eat of his venison: but Rebekah loved Jacob." (25:27-28). Only two men in the Bible are called hunters, Nimrod, the rebel, and Esau. The fact that Esau is described as a hunter like Nimrod, gives us some insight into his true character.
Esau had no interest in spiritual values, knowing this Jacob ceased the opportunity to take his birthright from him. "And Jacob sod pottage: and Esau came from the field, and he was faint: And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom. And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright. And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me? And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob. Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright." (25:29-34). There was no way that Esau could not have been at the point to die by missing one meal, to sell his birthright over one meal proved that he really had no interest in what God had to offer him. The family birthright included, the sacred position of spiritual leadership of the family and heir to the covenant between God and Abraham and his descendants. More importantly, the birthright was a link in the line of descent through which the Messiah was to come.
Now, Isaac was getting old in age and unsure of how much longer he would live, so he planned to bless Esau, but Rebekah overheard Isaac speaking to him and when Esau left to do as his father commanded Rebekah schemed to get Jacob blessed instead. "And it came to pass, that when Isaac was old, and his eyes were dim, so that he could not see, he called Esau his eldest son, and said unto him, My son: and he said unto him, Behold, here am I. And he said, Behold now, I am old, I know not the day of my death: Now therefore take, I pray thee, thy weapons, thy quiver and thy bow, and go out to the field, and take me some venison; And make me savoury meat, such as I love, and bring it to me, that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die. And Rebekah heard when Isaac spake to Esau his son. And Esau went to the field to hunt for venison, and to bring it. And Rebekah spake unto Jacob her son, saying, Behold, I heard thy father speak unto Esau thy brother, saying, Bring me venison, and make me savoury meat, that I may eat, and bless thee before the LORD before my death. Now therefore, my son, obey my voice according to that which I command thee." (Genesis 27:1-8). It appears that Isaac's admiration for his worldly minded son Esau caused him to ignore the prophecy that God had revealed to Rebekah before the twins' birth.
Jacob was blessed as the prophecy stated and that caused much friction between Esau and Jacob. That friction has carried on for generations and is still carried on today. Like Esau, many are willing to gratify fleshly cravings in total disregard for God's will in their lives until it is too late. Then, like Esau, they find fault with the people of God and blame their failures on someone else. Inevitably, the faithful servant of God will be falsely accused and betrayed; but, it is encouraging to see from Jacob's experience that it is impossible for anyone to keep the chosen servant of God from accomplishing the perfect will of God.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: As the spiritual Seed that would bless all the nations. "And I will make thy seed to multiply as the stars of heaven, and will give unto thy seed all these countries; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed;" (Genesis 26:4).
Today's Psalm: 3:8
"Salvation belongeth unto the LORD: thy blessing is upon thy people. Selah."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to hold on to the Spiritual Values that you have taught me in Your Word and bless me with the wisdom to teach others what I have learned. Give me strength and endurance to keep going no matter how difficult things get to accomplish Your perfect will for me. In Jesus' name........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and weekend.
God bless you,
Christina

Bible Study: Praise God
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is January 8, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Praise God When Suffering. At one point in time we are all faced with trials and suffering regardless of whether or not we are a Christian. However, Christians have one of the best things going for them through their suffer, and that is the Lord Jesus Christ.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 22-24
You can click on the link above to read them online, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2022-24&version=9
After 25 years of waiting for the promised son, God blessed Abraham and Sarah with Issac. Isaac was a young man when this final test came to test Abraham's faith. "And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham, and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of." (Genesis 22:1-2). A burnt offering sacrifice was always to be a male animal, was the best the offerer had, and was to be wholly consumed by fire. It was an expression of dedication to God.
Abraham knew that Isaac must live since God had said He would establish His Covenant with him, yet I am sure he was a little fearful as the command of God was to offer Isaac as a sacrifice, but obediently, Abraham followed God's command. "And Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife; and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son. And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them together. And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood." (22:6-9).
Abraham's many years of trusting in the Lord gave him faith in God. This is an amazing testimony of how Abraham's faith had grown over the years until he knew that God never makes a mistake and has a purpose for every command. "And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son." (22:10-13).
Through trials and suffering, the Lord develops our faith. He will not tempt us with anything that we can not handle and always provides us with a way out. "There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." (I Corinthians 10:13).
When our desires are to please Him, God orders all the ways of our lives so that He may bless us and we may offer Him the worship He desires and deserves. Christians should not hesitate to give Him all the praise for everything, even difficulties in life. There is reason and purpose for every thing that goes on in our lives and the more we praise Him the more we not only become closer to Him, but are blessed.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: Jesus is revealed by Issaac who was offered as a sacrifice. Jesus willingly offered His life as a living sacrifice for all mankind.
Today's Psalm: 54:6
"I will freely sacrifice unto thee: I will praise thy name, O LORD; for it is good."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
I confess that there are times in my life when things seem to difficult to handle, but now I realize that you will never send anything before me that I can not get through. In fact, I know I can get through anything as long as I have You with me. Lord, I praise You for my difficulties, I praise You for my struggles, I praise You for every blessing and every bit of my suffering. I know that You are with me and that You will see me through every situation. In Jesus' name......Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night!
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Godly Influence
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Wednesday January 7, 2009 and today we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Godly Influence. We will always face times in our lives when we can be easily influenced, whether it be a good or bad influence. We must make the choice to not only be around those who are a godly influence we must also be a godly influence to others.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 19-21
You can read them online by clicking the link above or you can copy and paste this link into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2019-21&version=9
Lot, Abraham's nephew who still sojourned in Sodom, soon had a prominent position there since he sat in the gate of Sodom where business and legal matters were conducted. "And there came two angels to Sodom at even; and Lot sat in the gate of Sodom: and Lot seeing them rose up to meet them; and he bowed himself with his face toward the ground; And he said, Behold now, my lords, turn in, I pray you, into your servant's house, and tarry all night, and wash your feet, and ye shall rise up early, and go on your ways. And they said, Nay; but we will abide in the street all night." (Genesis 19:1-2). Lot associated with the people of Sodom even though he was troubled by their wicked ways. Sodom was known for homosexuality, which is a sin in the eyes of God. Many people who choose this form of lifestyle are lead to believe that God hates people who are homosexual, but that is not the truth at all. He may not approve of what they do, but He loves everyone, regardless of the choices they make and all who come to Him are saved.
Twenty five years prior, by faith, Abraham left his homeland and journeyed to the new land of promise. However, when faced with a famine he left the land that God had told him to dwell in and sojourned in Egypt, fearful of his life he introduced Sarah as his sister. Years later, Abraham put himself and Sarah in the same posisition as they soujourned in Philistine. "And Abraham journeyed from thence toward the south country, and dwelled between Kadesh and Shur, and sojourned in Gerar. And Abraham said of Sarah his wife, She is my sister: and Abimelech king of Gerar sent, and took Sarah. But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, Behold, thou art but a dead man, for the woman which thou hast taken; for she is a man's wife." (Genesis 20:1-3).
It is difficult to understand why Abram would tell a half-truth in order to protect himself after God had already told him that He would always be there with him. Furthermore, it could have led Abimelech into sin. God apparently allowed these events to occur to reveal how easily our decisions are influenced by selfish motives.
Throughout the Scriptures, God tenderly and patiently leads us from sin and self-seeking and shows us that true happiness is the result of honor in all circumstances. Abraham remained committed to God even though there were times he had difficulty believing God's promises under circumstances. We too deal with the same emotions and fears when faced with our circumstances, but just as God was with Abraham and took care of him, even though he sinned at times, he is with us also.
Isaac, the miracle child of promise, entered the family life of Abraham, Sarah, and Hagar the bondwoman. "And the LORD visited Sarah as he had said, and the LORD did unto Sarah as he had spoken. For Sarah conceived, and bare Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time of which God had spoken to him. And Abraham called the name of his son that was born unto him, whom Sarah bare to him, Isaac.........And Sarah saw the son of Hagar the Egyptian, which she had born unto Abraham, mocking. Wherefore she said unto Abraham, Cast out this bondwoman and her son: for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, even with Isaac." (Genesis 21:1-3,9-10). Hagar's son Ishmael soon revealed his true character through his contempt for Isaac.
These two sons Ishmael and Isaac illustrate the dual nature of our lives. We are first born of the flesh (human parents), which is symbolized by Ishmael. However, the moment we realize that we are sinners and truly repent then we become born of the spirit (Holy Spirit), which is symbolized by Issac, the child of faith. We become the possessor of the nature of God and a new life filled with Christ begins.
"I have not hid thy righteousness within my heart; I have declared thy faithfulness and thy salvation: I have not concealed thy lovingkindness and thy truth from the great congregation."
Dear God,
We pray that You will empower us to live responsible lives so that we can be living examples of what it means to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age. In Jesus' name........Amen.
God bless you,
Christina
Bible Study: God's Timing
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Tuesday January 6, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: God's Timing. It is very important that we wait on God to answer our prayers in His time, not ours. It can be very hard to wait for prayers to be answered, but we must let God answer them in His time. He knows what is best for us and while we wait for the answers He is preparing us to be able to handle them.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 16-18,
You can read them here by clicking on the link or you can copy ans paste this link into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2016-18&version=9
Although God had promised Abram that he would be a father of many nations he and Sarai were childless. At the age of 85 he and Sarai began to doubt God's unconditional promise given by him. Then Sarai came up with an idea that Abram agreed upon. "Now Sarai Abram's wife bare him no children: and she had an handmaid, an Egyptian, whose name was Hagar. And Sarai said unto Abram, Behold now, the LORD hath restrained me from bearing: I pray thee, go in unto my maid; it may be that I may obtain children by her. And Abram hearkened to the voice of Sarai. And Sarai Abram's wife took Hagar her maid the Egyptian, after Abram had dwelt ten years in the land of Canaan, and gave her to her husband Abram to be his wife. And he went in unto Hagar, and she conceived: and when she saw that she had conceived, her mistress was despised in her eyes. And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee." (Genesis 16:1-5). Sarai thought she was helping Abram succeed, but she soon found out that it was not wise to interceed in God's plans. She grew to despise Hagar when she conceived.
At the age of 86, Abram did receive a son, Ishmael, by Hagar. It was thirteen years later that God spoke to Abram. "And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee." (Genesis 17:1-5). I am the Almighty God, means the One who is All-Sufficient. God truly is the One and Only who can supply us with all of our needs.
Abraham was now 99 years old and Sarah was 90. At her age, it was humanly impossible for Sarah to have a child. But God revealed to Abraham that she would bare him a child. "And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be. And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her. Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear? And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee! And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him." (17:15-19). Through Abraham, God would teach us how our faith can be strengthened by allowing a 90 year old woman to concieve a child.
One of the great tests of our faith is waiting upon the Lord. It may take two days, weeks, or years, or as in Abraham's situation, 25 years for our prayers to be answered or desires to be fulfilled. However, God has the perfect plan for us and knows when the time is right to give us what we need. It can be tempting to help God out and take things into our own hands, but all we do is make things worse. Every time we go above the Lord we go backward instead of forward in our walk with Him. Then God has to go back to square one and show us that we need to slow down and wait for Him. What we think we need in the present is nothing compared to what God has in store for us, all we have to do to get it is wait on Him.
Christ is Revealed: As the seed of Issac. "And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him." (Genesis 17:19). Jesus Christ was Christ was a descendant of Isaac.
Today's Psalm: 27:14
"Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, I know that You have great plans for me, but I also know that I must wait on You to receive them. Bless me with the patience I need to let You prepare me for the prayers I need answered. Walk with me, guide me, and abide in me, bless me with the power of your Spirit to allow me to follow Your Will and wait on You no matter how long it takes. In Jesus' name.....Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and know that God is with You.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Faith in God
01.05.09
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is January 5, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Faith in God. We will focus on the importance of realizing that we need to put our faith in God completely. Those who place their faith in God have no need to fight for the best because the best is heading toward them.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 13-15
If the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2013-15&version=9
The testing of Abram's faith began after he and Lot left Ur of the Chaldees on their journey of about 1000 miles to the promised land. "And Abram went up out of Egypt, he, and his wife, and all that he had, and Lot with him, into the south." (Genesis 13:1).
Upon arrival, he discovered there was a famine, they traveled south near Sodom where the pasture was the best. Abram and Lot both had large flocks, there was strife between their herdsman and the land was not big enough to accomodate them both so they decided to split up. Abram could have taken the best for himself since he was older than his nephew, as well as being the spiritual leader. Instead, he graciously gave Lot the choice of which way to go. "And Abram said unto Lot, Let there be no strife, I pray thee, between me and thee, and between my herdmen and thy herdmen; for we be brethren. Is not the whole land before thee? separate thyself, I pray thee, from me: if thou wilt take the left hand, then I will go to the right; or if thou depart to the right hand, then I will go to the left. And Lot lifted up his eyes, and beheld all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered every where, before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, even as the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt, as thou comest unto Zoar. Then Lot chose him all the plain of Jordan; and Lot journeyed east: and they separated themselves the one from the other. Abram dwelled in the land of Canaan, and Lot dwelled in the cities of the plain, and pitched his tent toward Sodom. But the men of Sodom were wicked and sinners before the LORD exceedingly." (13:8-13). Lot decided to ignore his spiritual need to be in fellowship with Abram. Instead, he made friends with the wicked people of Sodom.
It was after this experience that Abram received a promise from the Lord that He would make Abram's seed numerous. "And the LORD said unto Abram, after that Lot was separated from him, Lift up now thine eyes, and look from the place where thou art northward, and southward, and eastward, and westward: For all the land which thou seest, to thee will I give it, and to thy seed for ever. And I will make thy seed as the dust of the earth: so that if a man can number the dust of the earth, then shall thy seed also be numbered." (13:13-16).
Lot is an example of the worldly-minded, professing Christian. Like so many today, he was more concerned over material gain than he was over spiritual blessings. Only a few listen seriously to their Savior, who said we can not serve two masters. "No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon (false god)." (Luke 6:13). Satan desires to make us believe that we must take what we want in order to have the best things in life.
However, no one gives up the best by putting God first in his life! We may see things in the present as the worst, but God has better plans for us. He wants to give us the best that there is to offer, but He also wants us to seek Him first in order to obtain it. We should all follow the example of Abram and put our faith in Him, after all, He knows us beter than we do.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: By Melchizedek, the High Priest. "And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all." (Genesis 14:18-20). Christ is our High Priest today who is interceding in prayer for us and who is deserving of our gifts and service to Him.
Today's Psalm: 89:4
"But my faithfulness and my mercy shall be with him: and in my name shall his horn be exalted."
Today's Prayer:
Dear Lord,
Thank You for the many blessings that you have given me that I take granted for. Help me Lord, increase my faith in You daily for it is the only way to overcome the devil's deception. Bless me with wisdom and understanding of Your Words and help me to apply them to my life in all that I do. You are my Rock, my Savior, and All that I need to enjoy the best that this earthly life can offer. I put my complete trust and faith in You. In Jesus' name........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Be On Guard
Be On Guard 01.04.09
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Sunday January 4, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Message: Today's message focuses on the importance of realizing that we must always be on guard of those who are rebellious to the Word of God. Since the spirit of defiance is alive and well in our world today, we must keep our focus on His Word and His alone.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 10-12, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%2010-12&version=9
Highlights of Today's Reading: The descendants of Noah; the origin of different languages; the city of Babel;God's call and covenant with Abram; and his journey to Canaan and Egypt.
After the flood destroyed all of the human race except Noah's family, new generations began. "Now these are the generations of the sons of Noah, Shem, Ham, and Japheth: and unto them were sons born after the flood........And the sons of Ham; Cush, and Mizraim, and Phut, and Canaan. And the sons of Cush; Seba, and Havilah, and Sabtah, and Raamah, and Sabtechah: and the sons of Raamah; Sheba, and Dedan. And Cush begat Nimrod: he began to be a mighty one in the earth. He was a mighty hunter before the LORD: wherefore it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter before the LORD." (Genesis 10:1,6-9).
Nimrod is the first king mentioned in the Bible, his name means rebel. With Nimrod as their leader the people came together to build a city and a tower that could reach heaven. "And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them thoroughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter. And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth." (Genesis 11:3-4). The words make us a name revealed their desire for power. The human heart seeks a name for itself and has no desire to glorify God.
Nimrod established the first world empire and ruled it, the city was known as the city of Babel (Babylon). His ambition to build a tower did not mean he expected to reach the throne of the Almighty God, it meant that his desire was to make himself and his followers rulers of the world. God dealt with this rebellion by dividing the people into nations and giving them different languages. "And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded. And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do. Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech. So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth." (11:5-9). By God giving the people different languages it kept His people from being corrupted by rebellious nations.
Historic Babylon has been destroyed as prophesied in Isaiah 13:19-22, but this God defying spirit of rebellion against the authority of God's Word still remains today, attempting to dominate and control the minds of all. There is a worldwide movement to unite and control all people and all religions into a one-world government and one church. The only assurance of not being deceived in this age of lawlessness is knowing the Word of God as a personal relationship with Jesus. This knowlede exposes the motives behind the actions of leaders in world affairs.
The call of God demands that we make a choice. Even the closest ties of human loyalty or affection must be cut when they conflict with our submission to Christ and what is written in His Word.
Jesus Christ is Revealed: "And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed. "(Genesis 12:2-3). Jesus is the Promised Seed of Abraham. Abraham was a type of Christ who leads the way to a far better promised land. "For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham." (Hebrews 2:16).
Today's Psalm: 56:4
"In God I will praise his word, in God I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do unto me."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
As we are faced daily with corruption let us keep our eyes and ears focused on You and Your Word. Bless us with the wisdom and knowledge we need to know the truth and hold on to it throughout our earthly journey. Pour the Power of Your Spirit upon us and give us the strength and endurance to remain faithful to You no matter what we are faced with. In Jesus' name.........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night and or weekend.
God Bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Know God's Word
Know God's Word 01.03.09
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Saturday January 3, 2009, we are continuing our studies on the book of Genesis.
Today's Focus: The importance of reading for ourselves exactly what God has said in the Bible rather than relying on others. Unless we know God's Word for ourselves we can not know the truth.
Today's Bible Reading: Genesis Chapters 7-9, You can click the link to read the cahpters or copy and paste this link into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%207-9&version=9
Highlights of Today's Reading: Noah and his family; the ark; the flood; and God's rainbow covenant.
Noah was able to save his family and preserve all mankind because of his faith in the spoken Word of God. It was God's Word that led him to build the ark. "And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation. Of every clean beast thou shalt take to thee by sevens, the male and his female: and of beasts that are not clean by two, the male and his female. Of fowls also of the air by sevens, the male and the female; to keep seed alive upon the face of all the earth. For yet seven days, and I will cause it to rain upon the earth forty days and forty nights; and every living substance that I have made will I destroy from off the face of the earth. And Noah did according unto all that the LORD commanded him." (Genesis: 7:1-5). The flood was God's method of judgment against the wickedness of men and a means of separating the family of Noah from sin's corruption.
The ark had only one door, symbolic of Christ who is the only door to reach God. There came a day, prior to the flood, when they were told to enter the ark, and shut themselves in. "In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark; They, and every beast after his kind, and all the cattle after their kind, and every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind, and every fowl after his kind, every bird of every sort. And they went in unto Noah into the ark, two and two of all flesh, wherein is the breath of life. And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him: and the LORD shut him in." (Genesis 7:13-16). Just as Noah was able to rest within the ark, secure from the waters of death, so we can be assured of spiritual rest, for our lives are hidden with Christ in God.
The ark was a secure refuge from certain death; it was a type of Christ, who provides spiritual refuge for all believers. Noah's obedience to the command of God to build and enter the ark typifies the believer who, by faith, receives Christ and is saved from judgment (spiritual death).
As soon as he was once more on dry land Noah built an altar to the Lord and offered burnt offerings to Him. "And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar. And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done." (Genesis 8:20-21).
The obedience of faith and the worship of God go hand in hand. Just as Noah was not given an exact day when the flood would come, neither do we know the exact day when Jesus will come. That is why it is of great importance to be ready and prepared, we can not wait until it is the perfect time for us to be able to submit ourselves to God, the time is now.
Christ is Revealed: "And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation." (Genesis 7:1). Jesus is our ark that keeps us safe from the flood of the world.
Today's Psalm: 62:7
"In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to remain faithful to You and your calling upon my life. Strengthen and grow my faith as I daily search Your Scriptures and apply their truths to my spiritual walk. As I go through the trials and experiences of my earthly journey would You fix my eyes and my ever-wandering heart upon Jesus. When the howling winds and forceful storms of this life attempt to shipwreck my faith may they instead prove my faith to be more than sufficient to withstand the continual assaults from the enemy. Because I take refuge in Jesus my spiritual foundation is firm, always dependable, and leads me to glorious victory. In Jesus' name........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night.
God bless,
Christina

Bible Study: Stay Focused
Stay Focused 01 .01.09
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Thursday January 1, 2009. Happy New Year! I pray that this year brings you much joy and gladness.
Today's Lesson: God provides& nbsp;us with everything we need to live an abundant filled life, all we need to do to obtain it is Obey His Word. As you keep your eyes focused on God and you will not fall into the temptations of Satan.
Today we will be reading about the creation of all things; the creation of Adam and Eve; Eve's temptation by Satan; and Adam and Eve's rebellion against God and their forfeit of the Garden of Eden.
Today's Bible Reading: Please read Genesis Chapters 1-3, Click Here to read them online. If the link does not work copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genes is%201-3&version=9
We are beginning our studies on the book of Genesis. The book of Genesis is the first book of the Bible/Old Testament and contains fifty chapters. The author of the book is Moses and it was originally written to the people of Isreal. The purpose of the book was to record the beginning of the universe, man, the Sabbath, marriage, sin, sacrifice, nations, and government. It also records the stories of key men of God: Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. What we are to learn from the book is that God's plan from the beginning included all nations and that God begins new things with people.
In six days God created the heaven and earth. "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth........And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.........And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.......And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good. And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. "(Genesis 1:1,11,21,25-27,29).
God made mankind in His own image and likeness which makes us different from every animal."And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." (2:7). No animal has a God consciousness or is capable of worshiping God.
God provided us everything that would sustain us and enable us to fulfill His perfect will and achieve a happy and worthwhile life. Man's responsibility was to obey God and to take care of His garden However, God allowed man's love, loyalty, and obedience to be tested. "Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat." (3:1-6).
Satan did not reveal himself to Eve as the enemy of God nor a wicked deceiver with the intent on destroying every enjoyment of mankind. His intent was, and still is, to prevent man from obeying God. First, he tried to create doubt concerning the truth of what God had said. He implied that God was withholding the best enjoyments in life from Adam and Eve. Then he deceived them by giving only partial truth of God's Word, which was a lie. Satan knows just enough Scripture to make someone think he knows what he is talking about in order to make it to his advantage. While being tempted Eve chose to trust herself rather than God, she took her eyes off Him and focused only on what she was seeing in front of her, the more she thought about it the more she desired it. Once she got to that point she disregarded what belonged only to God and His authori ty and only chose to fulfill her desire. Once she tasted the forbidden fruit she then tempted Adam. They both sinned, and consequently, died spiritually. From that moment on, all of Adam's descendants inherited his sinful, disobedient nature, that includes all of us.
The steps to sin and its immediate consequences of eternal spiritual death and eventual physical death are still the same today. However, we are blessed to have a way out of sin and that is through the Lord, Jesus Christ. "These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us: And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him." (I John 5:13-15).
Throughout the Old Testament there are verses that reveal Jesus Christ, they will be listed daily.
Jesus Christ Revealed: "In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth." (Genesis 1:1). Jesus is our creator.
." (Genesis 1:1). Jesus is our creator.Today's Psalm: "This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD." (102:18).
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Your mercies are renewed daily and Your provision is experienced in our lives each moment of every day. We seek You for guidance in the new year and growth in our daily Christian walk. Though we cannot predict the future we can predict Your faithfulness because You are a God that does not change. Every promise You have made is true as we have seen in the Biblical records. This gives us reason to trust You for the dawning of a new year where we will once again experience Your guiding presence in our daily lives. In Jesus' name.......Amen.
Enjoy your day/night!
God Bless,
Christina
