Today's Message: Living in The Dark
Many people are living in the dark, believing they are going to heaven, when they are not. It's time to truly examine whether or not you have confessed that you know the True Christ or are being deceived by Satan.
Jeremiah was one of the greatest prophets in biblical history, and few have suffered so much public humiliation, rejection, and hostility. For more than 40 years, he warned the Israelite's to believe Moses and follow the Law or to face the judgment of God for their sins. Eventually, because they failed to repent, they faced the inevitable destruction of their glorious Temple and Jerusalem, the City of God. The last three chapters of Lamentations refers to the city in ruins. “I AM the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath. He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light. Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day. My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones. He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail. He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old. He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy.” - Lamentations 3:1-7. This is not only referencing Jerusalem, it is also speaking about what our world faces when the false messiah comes and deceives all nations. Though our nation appears to have light (Christ) in it, it is in total darkness, sadly, many people who have confessed Christ and say they are saved will be deceived and when Satan comes as the Antichrist (false messiah) many will turn to him instead of the True Christ. This is why it is so important to know God's Word and to know the true Gospel, the death, burial, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ who is the only begotten Son of God, born of the virgin Mary. “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:” - I Corinthians 15:1-4.
Many do not understand that God does not permit suffering just for the sake of punishment. It always has a twofold purpose: first, as judgment upon sin, but, second, to allow the offenders the opportunity to repent and commit their lives to Him. We can truly praise the Lord that He forgives us of all our sins when we repent and confess them to Him. Jeremiah assures us that, “For the LORD will not cast off for ever: But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men.” - Lamentations 3:31-33. God does not inflict any punishment because He wants to, but chastises us to show us that we need to do something better with our lives. We can get so caught up in what we or others want that we resort to many immoral things, if we have to suffer for a time, it is much less sever then the consequences we would face had we continued walking these paths. Sadly, some never heed these warnings and do suffer severely, by their own merit, not by God's.
After the destruction of the Temple, there was a realization of the awfulness of sin and the consequences of disregarding God's Word. The Israelite's had assumed that God's Covenant promise would continue while their Covenant responsibility was being ignored. Jeremiah called for a national confession of sin, repentance, and obedience to God's Word. “Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned.” - Lamentations 3:40-42. Look at what is happening in our cities today, all the the drugs, murders, robberies, pornography, and violence, not only with the adults, but with the youth also. It is becoming clear why God is allowing these things to come upon our nation. If our people refuse to confess their sins, then our Lord must go to these ends to draw our attention back to Himself. This applies to any major city in our Land or any other christian nation where the people have turned their backs on God's Word.
We do not have to live in darkness and we can avoid much needless suffering, “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” - I John 1:5-10. The righteous always suffer in the midst of a wicked nation; but, for the Christian, suffering should open our eyes to the true values of life and the assurance that all who confess will be saved. Praise God!
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, You know the very intention of all that I say and do. I invite You to examine my heart, I lay before You the people and pursuits that drive me further away from a heart that places You at the center of my life. You have not removed me bodily from this world, but You have raised me up spiritually to abide in Your presence even as I carry out my daily duties. As Your presence graciously overshadows me it is there that Your love and faithfulness sustains me and keeps me focused on You in all there I do. Even as a vehicle needs fuel to properly function, I need You to uphold and equip me for the day that lies ahead. In Jesus' Name...........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless You,
Christina

Our Treasures
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Sunday August 30, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Lamentations, please read chapters 1-2 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-30.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-30.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: Our Treasures
God will bless us with many wonderful things, one of which is the treasures awaiting us in heaven, but we need to be careful not to let our treasures on earth become more important than God's.
Lamentations is the twenty-fifth book of the Old Testament/Bible and contains five chapters. It was written by Jeremiah to the Jews who were captive in Babylon and the purpose of the book was to produce the repentance necessary for spiritual restoration. What we are to learn from the book is that God is faithful in both judgment and mercy.
Jeremiah was deeply grieved that the holy city of Jerusalem had been destroyed, compared the once wealthy, secure, and proud Israelite's to a widow who had lost her husband. As a widow, Jerusalem was now alone, weeping in the night, with no one to comfort her, “How doth the city sit solitary, that was full of people! how is she become as a widow! she that was great among the nations, and princess among the provinces, how is she become tributary! She weepeth sore in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks: among all her lovers she hath none to comfort her: all her friends have dealt treacherously with her, they are become her enemies. Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude: she dwelleth among the heathen, she findeth no rest: all her persecutors overtook her between the straits.” - Lamentations 1:1-3. The Covenant that God made with Israel required their obedience to His Word, but they had not kept their part of the Covenant and it was this ignorance that caused the destruction of the City of God. The Spiritual neglect eventually led the Israelite's to lose not only their personal liberty, but also the precious privilege to let the world know the One True God who expects them to reject their idols and worship only Him, who was their creator.
Today, we too have a Covenant with God to obey His Word, not just part of His Word, but every word that is in this book. Ignorance is not going to stop the events that are going to take place, so instead of trying to recreate the world out of mans' mind, we need to face the facts and deal with the fact that Jesus is coming real soon and nothing anyone does to change God's Word will change that fact. “For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.” - I Thessalonians 5:2-6. God wants us to go about our lives sober and ready for the unexpected, we can enjoy live, but we need to pay attention so we will not get caught off guard. He did not give us this book to scare us, He gave it to instruct, correct, and warn us of the things that will take place so we can know the truth and be prepared.
We have one supreme reason for living, and it is not to obtain financial security, popularity, material success, or to look forward to the next vacation. Although we can be blessed with these things, they are not the sole purpose for us being here. Our sole purpose for being here is to serve God by instructing others of the truth so they will not have to face the consequences of hell. Pity the person who is wasting the few short years of his life chasing social and financial goals, but failing to achieve the purpose for which God created him. Jesus Said, “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” - Matthew 6:19-21. It is sad to have seen so many people fall into the corruptions of wealth and material things, it truly is the root of all evil. Of course we all want nice things and security, but no one can take their money or possessions with them when they die, so what is the use of reaching for things that have no true value.
God knows what we need and desire and He will give them to all of us, but we can not let these things become our god, in the end, we are the ones that will suffer, severely. Think about it! Is the temporary gratification worth an eternity of suffering? “Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.” - Psalm 37:3-5.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, it is Your desire that we stay faithful to Your teachings. Scripture gives us many examples of those who knew to do right, but instead became corrupted by wealth and possessions. The consequences of their wrong actions inflicted a great deal of loss, life-long regret and emotional pain. Help us to avoid the traps Satan has set for the believers by not only reading all of Your Word, but applying its truth to our lives, and standing firm when the temptation to seek material things is ever before us. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed Lord's Day.
God Bless You,
Christina

State of Confusion
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Saturday August 29, 2009 and we will be completing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 51-52 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-29" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-29" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: State of Confusion
With all of the events surrounding the world today we can easily be in a state of confusion, but thankfully we have a loving God who is not here to condemn the world, but save it.
The spectacular empire of the Chaldeans surpassed anything the world had ever known. Its capital, Babylon, appeared invincible, with walls over 300 feet high and wide enough for chariots to ride two abreast. The empire was enjoying absolute rule over all the nations when Jeremiah foretold of it's fall. “Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity; for this is the time of the LORD's vengeance; he will render unto her a recompence. Babylon hath been a golden cup in the LORD's hand, that made all the earth drunken: the nations have drunken of her wine; therefore the nations are mad. Babylon is suddenly fallen and destroyed: howl for her; take balm for her pain, if so be she may be healed. We would have healed Babylon, but she is not healed: forsake her, and let us go every one into his own country: for her judgment reacheth unto heaven, and is lifted up even to the skies. The LORD hath brought forth our righteousness: come, and let us declare in Zion the work of the LORD our God.” - Jeremiah 51:6-10. What God is telling His people is that there will come a time when Babylon will fall and they need to be ready to leave. The word Babylon in Hebrew means confusion, He is telling them to come out of the confusion and save their souls. It is your eternal soul that is at stake, and not your flesh body that will be lost by your participation in the land of Confusion.
God allows confusion to test His children, but it really is not that confusing, God wrote each of us a personal letter that allows us to come out of confusion, that letter is the Bible. Although there are many events in the Bible that take place well before we were even thought of, it contains all the answers to every problem that we have and gives us instructions on how to live the best life we can live regardless of the circumstances we face. Every story contains, history, knowledge, instruction, and an abundance of other things that we can learn from and not just to fear God's wrath. Jesus, who is the Word in the flesh said, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” - John 3:16-18.
God loves us and wants us to be prepared, He does not expect us to know everything, but what He does expect is that we study this letter so we will not be deceived when confusion surrounds us. I will tell you that I was out Thursday morning witnessing to people with my church when we ran into a man that was confused about God because his wife died, this happened ten years ago. He was reading books that put him in that confusion and that is what happens to many who begin reading these so called spiritual books, they do not help, but hurt people. This is all the work of Satan, planting confusion into Christian's to get them away from God. We always need to be ready and prepared for the unexpected, because Satan is around and about planting all with confusion. We need to take on the whole armor of God with us daily so we can withstand all of Satan's confusion, “Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:” - Ephesians 6:13-17.
I will be the first to admit that I do not understand many of the events that had taken place over the years, from the Bible and those that I know now, but I will say that every event has a meaning and lesson to it. Often you will hear people question God after reading about events that have taken place in the Old Testament, but think about it. Did God really cause all the destruction? He warned them many times about things that would take place, just as He is warning us about things that are taking place right now. It's the people that caused the destruction, not God, yes He could have stopped it, but would they have learned if He did. Paul said, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” - Ephesians 6:7-9. Take a look at people who are constantly in trouble, they come to you for help, you help them and they go right back to doing the things they did, never attempting to change their ways. However, if they get into trouble and have to suffer and face the consequences of their actions they will learn to change their ways. We do not have to live in a state of confusion, there is a season of life and of death, of happiness and of sorrow, of growth, and of famine, regardless of whether or not we are a Christian. How we choose to handle these situations all comes down to whether or not we put our faith and trust in God. We can overcome all confusion, simply by trusting in God to help us through all our circumstances.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, I am thankful for the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures that provide an objective and accurate guide for every season of my life. The Bible is a lamp unto my feet and a light for the path that lies before me. It comforts, teaches, convicts, corrects, and trains me in the ways of godliness. Though many will choose other authorities to guide their lives, I choose Your Holy Word to equip me for the works You’ve called me to do. In Jesus' Name........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina

Focus on God's Promises
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Friday August 28, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 49-50 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-28.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-28.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: Focus on God's Promises.
We will face many trials as Christian's, especially for our faith in Him, but we can overcome them all by keeping our eyes on the promises of God that have never failed.
As Christian's God expects us to study His Word in order to grow familiar with His entire plan, as we are in the latter days, we are expected to have sealed in our minds of the events that are going to take place so that we will not be deceived by them when they happen. Jeremiah prophesied about the events that will be taking place concerning the Gentile nations (those who are not Jews). “Concerning the Ammonites, thus saith the LORD; Hath Israel no sons? hath he no heir? why then doth their king inherit Gad, and his people dwell in his cities? Therefore, behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will cause an alarm of war to be heard in Rabbah of the Ammonites; and it shall be a desolate heap, and her daughters shall be burned with fire: then shall Israel be heir unto them that were his heirs, saith the LORD. Howl, O Heshbon, for Ai is spoiled: cry, ye daughters of Rabbah, gird you with sackcloth; lament, and run to and fro by the hedges; for their king shall go into captivity, and his priests and his princes together.” - Jeremiah 49:1-3. The Ammonites are the brothers to the Moabites, for they had the same father, who was Lot, the nephew of Abraham. Some of these prophecies were for years to come, if you take a look into what is going on in the world today you can see many of these events are happening right now. Gad was one of the tribes who's land was far to the north, and on the east side of the Jordan. It was geographically located where the nation of Jordan, and Syria are today. When the king of Assyria scattered the house of Israel, the ten tribes to the north, the Ammonites came in to occupy the cities of Gad, and their land. That land was a promised land to Israel from the Abrahamic covenant.
Our attention is turned to Edom, a nation that descended from Jacob's twin brother Esau. Edom had always been a jealous enemy of Jacob's descendants and had joined Nebuchadnezzar in plundering Jerusalem. They even expanded their territory into southern Judah, inhabiting an area later called Idumea, the birthplace of Herod, the king. Because of their actions toward Israel, Edom's fate was foretold, “But I have made Esau bare, I have uncovered his secret places, and he shall not be able to hide himself: his seed is spoiled, and his brethren, and his neighbours, and he is not. Leave thy fatherless children, I will preserve them alive; and let thy widows trust in me. For thus saith the LORD; Behold, they whose judgment was not to drink of the cup have assuredly drunken; and art thou he that shall altogether go unpunished? thou shalt not go unpunished, but thou shalt surely drink of it.” - Jeremiah 49:10-12. God is saying that He is going to pick Edom to come up against the nations, which is known as Russia today. This prophecy has not happened yet to its completeness, His brethren are those state nations that made up the USSR. That binding force is gone now, but what is left is a nation that still has the weapons needed to fulfill this prophecy in the future. They have their advancements not by their own wisdom, but by coping it from other nations. Their spies have taken the technologies from our nations and our allies and they will come out of their secret places with force, thus fulfilling this prophecy. When Satan appears as the Anti-Christ, Russia will be strengthened just enough to fulfill this prophecy.
Between what we are learning from God's Word and the things that are taking place today it can be so discouraging and overwhelming. It makes you just want to run and not do anything, but we can expect the devil to discourage us in an effort to destroy our faith in God and that is exactly what he is doing. Satan thinks that if he can get God's elect to lose their faith and fight against God that he will not be destroyed. He must not know God very well because what God says always happens regardless of how many times he tres to get around Him.”And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.” - Revelation 20:10. God is not glorified by our fears, doubts, or frustrations. There is never a valid reason to allow the pressures and problems of life depress or frustrate us, we can overcome all trials, tribulations, and fears through our continued faith in God. “Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing. If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.” - James 1:3-6.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, because we are visually stimulated by that which surrounds us it is easy to become discouraged by what we see. Yet we choose to live by faith and not by sight. We want to rise above life’s visible circumstances to scenes invisible here on earth, but made known to us through Scripture. Lord, keep us planted in the foundation of Your Word so we know what to expect and will not fall into the deceitfulness of the devil, no matter what he does to try to wreck our faith. We will prevail and rejoice in the promise that You will never leave us nor forsake us. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.
God Bless You,
Christina

Lining Up With God
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Thursday August 27, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah please read chapters 45-48 in your Bible or Click Here to read them.
Today's Message: Lining Up With God
God blesses us with with many talents, all of them are to be used for His glory and when we use them in our daily lives we need to keep Him in mind because all that we do in life needs to line up with God's Word.
God allows us to serve Him in many ways and blesses us with talents in order to do so, He makes some preachers, some teachers, and even makes some laborers. Whatever God calls us to do for Him He will give us the talents to be able to do them. Some things we may not want to do, such as clean the bathrooms, but true fulfillment comes only when we recognize that we are serving God. For the past twenty five years Baruch, Jeremiah's scribe, has had a tough time, he wrote and delivered many of the messages that God gave to Jeremiah. Being the messenger of bad news caused him more trouble then a person is expected to bear and this caused him some grief. Through Jeremiah, God personally speaks to him. “Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel, unto thee, O Baruch: Thou didst say, Woe is me now! for the LORD hath added grief to my sorrow; I fainted in my sighing, and I find no rest. Thus shalt thou say unto him, The LORD saith thus; Behold, that which I have built will I break down, and that which I have planted I will pluck up, even this whole land. And seekest thou great things for thyself? seek them not: for, behold, I will bring evil upon all flesh, saith the LORD: but thy life will I give unto thee for a prey in all places whither thou goest.” - Jeremiah 45:2-5. Perhaps Baruch had hoped that his service as a scribe would be a means of achieving personal ambitions and recognition, or other self-serving goals. However, instead of rewards, or even words of sympathy for his frustrations, he received a strong rebuke from God. God is telling him, though I bring down the land, and destroy the flesh of the land, I will give you your freedom in the end. You will not be captive, but a free man, and that is all I am promising you.
Although Baruch was recording the Word of God spoken through Jeremiah, he did not have the spiritual concern or insight of the prophet, this is why he never prospered in his serving God. Jeremiah was deeply concerned for the people, desiring that they repent of their sins and avoid the coming judgment and destruction, this is why he was recognized. Baruch should have considered it a great privilege to be a coworker in Jeremiah's ministry, instead he was discontent with not being recognized. Baruch is typical of those who are dissatisfied with their circumstances, job, or having a position of less recognition than they think they deserve. We are to be content in what God calls us to do, no matter what it is. “Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.” - Hebrews 13:5,6. God is with us and recognizes everything that we do for Him, even the smallest task.
No matter what we do for God, we need to do it wholeheartedly, if we are not content with the smallest task how are we to handle the larger tasks. “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.” - I Corinthians 10:31. Whatever we do, we need to make sure it all lines up with God and His Word. Often, I drive the kids around that attend the academy to help them raise money for school, it is not my most favorite thing in the world, but instead of complaining I say I am doing it for You God. I may never be recognized for this by others, but I know God is with me, preparing me to do bigger things for Him, and will bless me for it. He has already, I am now a Sunday school teacher and love it.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, we can live in a state of discontent when we do not receive rewards or recognition for the things that we do for You. Let us be reminded that You see everything that we do and even recognize the smallest task. You are preparing us for bigger things, let us be content as we rejoice in the fact that whether we are in want or whether we have plenty You have promised that You will never leave us nor forsake us. What a treasured promise for the believer in times of need and in the circumstances in our lives.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your week.
God Bless You,
Christina

False Leaders
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Wednesday, August 26, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 41-44 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-26" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-26" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: False Leaders
False leaders appear to be solid in the community, but when it comes down to the critical time of testing their traditions, they are false and deceiving those who truly want to follow the Lord.
After the Babylonians left, Gedaliah was placed in charge of the ones that were left behind in Judah and Jerusalem. He was a very trusting soul, however, Ishmael who was next in line of the throne before Nebuchadnezzar took charge, was passed over, and that caused him to plan the murder of Gedaliah so he could reign. “Then arose Ishmael the son of Nethaniah, and the ten men that were with him, and smote Gedaliah the son of Ahikam the son of Shaphan with the sword, and slew him, whom the king of Babylon had made governor over the land. Ishmael also slew all the Jews that were with him, even with Gedaliah, at Mizpah, and the Chaldeans that were found there, and the men of war.” - Jeremiah 41:2,3. Ishmael claimed to be of the royal seed, and believed that Gedaliah did not have the right under the law to be in charge, so it was out of pure jealousy that he killed Gedaliah.
After the death of Gedaliah, the leaders called Jeremiah to seek God for a message from Him. “Then all the captains of the forces, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and Jezaniah the son of Hoshaiah, and all the people from the least even unto the greatest, came near, And said unto Jeremiah the prophet, Let, we beseech thee, our supplication be accepted before thee, and pray for us unto the LORD thy God, even for all this remnant; (for we are left but a few of many, as thine eyes do behold us:) That the LORD thy God may shew us the way wherein we may walk, and the thing that we may do. Then Jeremiah the prophet said unto them, I have heard you; behold, I will pray unto the LORD your God according to your words; and it shall come to pass, that whatsoever thing the LORD shall answer you, I will declare it unto you; I will keep nothing back from you.” - Jeremiah 42:1-4. The people are telling Jeremiah that they want God to give them direction for their lives and their families, but these are the same people who did not listen to him when he warned them before the fall of Jerusalem. Notice the wording that Jeremiah uses here. He says "I will pray unto your God according to your words". What he is saying here is that he is a little suspicious of them and their honesty in seeking God for help. He could see the doubt in their minds by the way they asked for help, so he used the word “your” to signify that he knew they were not seeking the one true God for help.
Through Jeremiah God Said, “If ye will still abide in this land, then will I build you, and not pull you down, and I will plant you, and not pluck you up: for I repent me of the evil that I have done unto you. Be not afraid of the king of Babylon, of whom ye are afraid; be not afraid of him, saith the LORD: for I am with you to save you, and to deliver you from his hand. And I will shew mercies unto you, that he may have mercy upon you, and cause you to return to your own land.” - Jeremiah 42:10-12. They had every reason to be afraid, because they had broken every law established both by God and Babylon, but God is assuring them if they stay where they are and abide in Him that everything will come to pass and He will show His mercy upon them and they will be saved.
Now when Johanan and the men that were left behind heard of the evil that Ishmael had done they went after them. Johanan and his forces overtook Ishmael and freed the people. Once the people were freed by Johanan, they sought Jeremiah's advice as to what God would have them do and Jeremiah told them to return to their homes and they would live. However, they took council amongst themselves and determined that Jeremiah was lying to them and that Baruch, his scribe was putting these ideas into Jeremiah's mind so they did not listen and headed for Egypt, forcing Jeremiah and Baruch to go with them. “Then spake Azariah the son of Hoshaiah, and Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the proud men, saying unto Jeremiah, Thou speakest falsely: the LORD our God hath not sent thee to say, Go not into Egypt to sojourn there: But Baruch the son of Neriah setteth thee on against us, for to deliver us into the hand of the Chaldeans, that they might put us to death, and carry us away captives into Babylon. So Johanan the son of Kareah, and all the captains of the forces, and all the people, obeyed not the voice of the LORD, to dwell in the land of Judah.” - Jeremiah 43:2-4. Because of this, all the people that went to Egypt died. This is typical of those who do not have the plan of God in their minds, they will devise their own, that always goes against His Will and sadly take people with them.
It does not matter how much a person may seem to be a great preacher, or teacher, if that person does not lead properly in the Spirit of God, he is deceiving the people. False leaders will claim to be very spiritual, and in tune with our heavenly Father, but when the Word of the Lord comes to direct them, they will close their mind and chase after their own imaginations. That is why we must grow familiar with the plan of God, to know His Word personally, and to abide by it. It's the only way that we will know whether or not our leader is a man of God or a man deceiving the people.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, You lead us through the valleys and mountain top experiences of everyday life. Your ways are far superior to the path we might choose when guided by our own limited wisdom. We are so grateful for the strength and encouragement we receive from our brothers and sisters who bear our burdens and share in our joys. When considering the choice of walking faithfully with You or turning to our old way of life, let us be reminded of the freedom we enjoy by having Christ as our Savior and the life we can enjoy by keeping Him with us daily. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.
God Bless You,
Christina

Start Relying on God
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Tuesday August 25, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 37-40 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-25.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-25.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: Start Relying on God
Often when Christian's are blessed with things they rely on God to get them, but once they get them, they stop relying on Him. It's time to stop relying on our own and start relying on God if we want to see continued blessings.
God is the same today as He was yesterday and surely will be tomorrow, He will not change no matter how many people try to rewrite, eliminate, or ignore His Word. True Christian's know this and although they may have a bad day here and there, they know they need to rely on God for all things, even when they get what they need and desire. Many people claim to Christian's, but rarely follow or talk to God until something bad happens in their lives. Then, they often question God and pretend that they want Him in their lives until they get what they want and the cycle starts all over again. So, what does God do when He sees this happening? He begins taking away blessings in hope that we will see our error for good, but He will not be mocked, we only get so many chances and warning before it is too late to do anything. Jeremiah, warned and warned king Zedekiah of the destruction that was about to take place, yet he never listened and cause harm to Jeremiah whenever he spoke of something that he did not want to hear. “And king Zedekiah the son of Josiah reigned instead of Coniah the son of Jehoiakim, whom Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon made king in the land of Judah. But neither he, nor his servants, nor the people of the land, did hearken unto the words of the LORD, which he spake by the prophet Jeremiah. And Zedekiah the king sent Jehucal the son of Shelemiah and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest to the prophet Jeremiah, saying, Pray now unto the LORD our God for us. ” - Jeremiah 37:1-3. Did you notice that it was king Nebuchadnezzar who placed Zedekiah in office as the King in Jerusalem? Now, he sees trouble coming and wants God's help. Zedekiah is typical of those who create their own idea of who God is and then when something happens expects God to show up and help them.
Zedekiah knew that the city of Jerusalem was not right, he knew the idolatry that was going on and knew about the false religions in the Temple and their tradition that made void of the Word of God. Zedekiah tried everything to avoid Jeremiah's prophecy from coming true, but nothing he did stopping what was about to happen. Now, he sees things coming to pass and seeks Jeremiah for help. “Then Zedekiah the king sent, and took Jeremiah the prophet unto him into the third entry that is in the house of the LORD: and the king said unto Jeremiah, I will ask thee a thing; hide nothing from me. Then Jeremiah said unto Zedekiah, If I declare it unto thee, wilt thou not surely put me to death? and if I give thee counsel, wilt thou not hearken unto me? So Zedekiah the king sware secretly unto Jeremiah, saying, As the LORD liveth, that made us this soul, I will not put thee to death, neither will I give thee into the hand of these men that seek thy life. Then said Jeremiah unto Zedekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of hosts, the God of Israel; If thou wilt assuredly go forth unto the king of Babylon's princes, then thy soul shall live, and this city shall not be burned with fire; and thou shalt live, and thine house: But if thou wilt not go forth to the king of Babylon's princes, then shall this city be given into the hand of the Chaldeans, and they shall burn it with fire, and thou shalt not escape out of their hand.” - Jeremiah 38:14-18. Jeremiah knew that what ever he says, the king will not listen to him. Zedekiah hadn't listened to anything Jeremiah had said in the past several years, so why should he listen to him now. However, he was probably thinking if Jeremiah was to change the story then then God will have to go against His Word, and the city and people will be saved.
God never changes, when He says something He expects it to be done His way. God declared that for the sin that all the people had committed in defiling his Temple and the laws and commandments, the punishment was seventy years in captivity. He allowed them a time for repentance, and they refused to repent and held to their traditions, trying to make God conform to their man made ways and religious forms. It isn't God that is making it rough on them, for God has given a way out, they are making it rough on themselves. As a Christian one of the things that aggravates me the most is seeing people pretend to have a relationship with God, but really have no interest in Him at all. They live in the world and when something happens they cry and want you to feel sorry for them and help them out of their trouble. Although I do pray for them, I will no longer help them out because each time I do I am only going against God's Will. God warns those who are half-hearted toward Him. “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:” - Revelation 3:15-18. We have a choice to make, we can rely on God to take care of us and follow His Will or we can rely on ourselves and go through needless suffering until we learn the hard way that we need God in our lives.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, I am thankful for the inspiration of the Holy Scriptures that provides an objective and accurate guide for every season of my life. The Bible is a lamp unto my feet and a light for the path that lies before me. It teaches, convicts, corrects, and trains me in the ways of godliness. Although many will rely on themselves to guide them through life, I choose Your Holy Book to equip me for the works You’ve called me to do in Your name. I rely on its inspired texts to sustain me in my lifetime commitment to walk in Your ways as I travel the Bible Road that leads to eternal life through Jesus Christ. In Jesus name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your week.
God Bless You,
Christina

Price of Freedom
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Monday August 24, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 34-36 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-24.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-24.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: Price of Freedom
America is known as the land of the free, but as the years go by we are losing that freedom. There is a great price to freedom, but there is one thing that truly is free and no one can take from us. Salvation!
Our world leaders are taking control of everything and before we know it we will not even be able to have as many children as we want. What does that say about freedom? It says that everything that God warned us about is taking place, just as it has been prophesied. Nebuchadnezzar was king over the one world system, as it stood in Jeremiah's day. “The word which came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and all his army, and all the kingdoms of the earth of his dominion, and all the people, fought against Jerusalem, and against all the cities thereof, saying, Thus saith the LORD, the God of Israel; Go and speak to Zedekiah king of Judah, and tell him, Thus saith the LORD; Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall burn it with fire:” - Jeremiah 34:1,2. Historically, that is exactly what happened to Jerusalem as it was foretold, the king of Babylon destroyed the city of Jerusalem, killed or took captive the people and made the land desolate for a period of seventy years, which history books can prove. Today, we also have a king over the one world system, that king is the New World Order, also known and the United Nations.
Back in Bible times, when a person was in debt he/she had to pay off that debt by being a slave to the one they owed, but they could not be a slave for more than seven years. King Zedekiah is a cunning man and sees an opportunity here, he is thinking that if he stops what is going on as a common practice, this will find favor with God, and remove the judgment that Jeremiah has just pronounced. So he comes up with a new covenant to get the people to release their slaves. “This is the word that came unto Jeremiah from the LORD, after that the king Zedekiah had made a covenant with all the people which were at Jerusalem, to proclaim liberty unto them; That every man should let his manservant, and every man his maidservant, being an Hebrew or an Hebrewess, go free; that none should serve himself of them, to wit, of a Jew his brother. Now when all the princes, and all the people, which had entered into the covenant, heard that every one should let his manservant, and every one his maidservant, go free, that none should serve themselves of them any more, then they obeyed, and let them go. But afterward they turned, and caused the servants and the handmaids, whom they had let go free, to return, and brought them into subjection for servants and for handmaids. ” - Jeremiah 34:8-11. Think about what is taking place here. Those who are rich in the country heard that Babylon was going to attack so they rushed to the city, taking their slaves with them. They were willing to release the slaves because they knew there was going to be a battle and that people were going to die. They gave them a false sense of freedom so they would fight a lot harder while they could stay home and become richer and it they died defending their country, oh well. Does all this sound familiar to you? Are we not facing a war right now?
It's sad to see our country falling apart, freedom is no longer free and comes with a great price. However, we can rejoice because there is one thing that is free that no one can take away from us and that is our Salvation! “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” - Ephesians 2:8-10. What this means is that we do not have to work to be free because God's grace has set us free. Jesus Said: “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.” - John 3:16,17. Praise God! Halleluiah! We Are Saved! Anyone can be saved, simply by believing and accepting Jesus into their lives. Think that is a price to pay? Think again! Jesus paid a huge price by dying for the sins of every person on this planet, even those who refuse to believe in Him and mock Him. The least we can do is have some respect for Him and thank Him by saying that we believe in Him. That is no price, that is freedom!
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, we give thanks for the men and women of great valor who have given their lives for our freedom over the centuries. We also give thanks for those who have impacted our spiritual lives as we seek to live faithfully for You; the Biblical saints, the early church fathers, the martyrs of the faith, the evangelists, preachers, and teachers of Your Holy Word, our family members who showed us the way and we thank You for those extraordinary believers who not only lived for You, but lived as an example of faith to those of us who were watching and learning along the way. Above all, we thank You for the person of Your Son, Jesus Christ, who is the Way, the Truth and the Life to our eternal Home in heaven. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless You,
Christina

We Are Forgiven!
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Sunday August 23, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 32-32 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-23.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-23.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: We Are Forgiven
We can be sure that, regardless of how things appear, whatever God says will come to pass, however Christian's can rest assure that we are forgiven and will always have God with us.
As Christian's we face much mockery and persecution for our belief in God's Word, there are three main reasons for this. One they do not believe that it was written by God, two they have a hard time believing in someone that they can not see, and three, the biggest reason of all, they do not want to obey. They think if they ignore God's Word that the things that are about to come to pass will not happen. However, those elect few that hold on to God's Word no matter what challenges they face will prevail. Jeremiah, faced much mockery and persecution for stand by God's Word, he was even put in prison. “The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD in the tenth year of Zedekiah king of Judah, which was the eighteenth year of Nebuchadrezzar. For then the king of Babylon's army besieged Jerusalem: and Jeremiah the prophet was shut up in the court of the prison, which was in the king of Judah's house. For Zedekiah king of Judah had shut him up, saying, Wherefore dost thou prophesy, and say, Thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the king of Babylon, and he shall take it; And Zedekiah king of Judah shall not escape out of the hand of the Chaldeans, but shall surely be delivered into the hand of the king of Babylon, and shall speak with him mouth to mouth, and his eyes shall behold his eyes; And he shall lead Zedekiah to Babylon, and there shall he be until I visit him, saith the LORD: though ye fight with the Chaldeans, ye shall not prosper.” - Jeremiah 32:1-5. Although Jeremiah was in prison, there was no harm done to him, amazingly enough, he was allowed to teach God's Word to the guards. So, why was he in prison? Simply because King Zedekiah did not like hearing the truth. He got tired of hearing Jeremiah's prophecy about how the city would fall into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon.
Of all the books in the Bible this one should concern us the most, God is giving us a warning by showing us what happened to Jerusalem, He is instructing us to get right with Him before it is too late. The king of Babylon represents the false messiah and Jerusalem represents the world. What is taking place today is coming to pass quickly, just as it did when the people failed to listen to this warning. In this same chapter God speaks about the people turning their backs on Him and following worldly gods. “And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction. But they set their abominations in the house, which is called by my name, to defile it. And they built the high places of Baal, which are in the valley of the son of Hinnom, to cause their sons and their daughters to pass through the fire unto Molech; which I commanded them not, neither came it into my mind, that they should do this abomination, to cause Judah to sin.” - Jeremiah 32:33-35. The valley of the son of Hinnom is the garbage pit right outside the gate that had it's fire's burning twenty four hours a day. Christ used this garbage pit as a symbol of Hell. God is comparing this to their practice of building the high places of Baal and the fire that they burned their children unto Molech. This form of religious practice offered their own children as a sacrifice to God, and God is saying that He never told you to do it. The thought of this never entered God's mind. When the false messiah returns, Satan will come and claim to be the true Christ and the entire world will be delivered into his hands, except for God's elect that shall not be deceived.
How wonderful to know that, in the midst of the most difficult circumstances, we can rest assured that God is merciful and will protect and provide for the needs of His faithful servants. “Thus saith the LORD the maker thereof, the LORD that formed it, to establish it; the LORD is his name; Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.............And I will cleanse them from all their iniquity, whereby they have sinned against me; and I will pardon all their iniquities, whereby they have sinned, and whereby they have transgressed against me. And it shall be to me a name of joy, a praise and an honour before all the nations of the earth, which shall hear all the good that I do unto them: and they shall fear and tremble for all the goodness and for all the prosperity that I procure unto it.” - Jeremiah 33:2,3,8,9. This statement is the foundation of the blessings of God. Only God can cleanse us from our iniquity. We can cleanse our own home, but only God can can cleanse us from our sins and that only comes from the blood of Jesus Christ. To pardon does not mean that the sin did not exist, but it means that the penalty required for that sin is taken from them. Praise God We Are Forgiven!
Have a wonderful and blessed Lord's Day.
God Bless You,
Christina

Grounded in God's Word
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Saturday August 22, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah, please read chapters 29-31 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-22.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-22.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: Grounded in God's Word
The world is on chaos right now, but Christian's who are grounded in God's Word, are not confused by what is taking place, but are at peace knowing that Jesus is coming.
Jeremiah prophesied about the destruction of Jerusalem and it was now about to take place, Jeremiah was instructed by God to write a letter to those who were taken captive by Babylon. “Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, unto all that are carried away captives, whom I have caused to be carried away from Jerusalem unto Babylon;.…........Take ye wives, and beget sons and daughters; and take wives for your sons, and give your daughters to husbands, that they may bear sons and daughters; that ye may be increased there, and not diminished. And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the LORD for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace. For thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Let not your prophets and your diviners, that be in the midst of you, deceive you, neither hearken to your dreams which ye cause to be dreamed. For they prophesy falsely unto you in my name: I have not sent them, saith the LORD.” - Jeremiah 29:4,6-9. God is saying that He allowed them to be carried away so that they would be safe from all the destruction that was about to take place. This letter then is a set of instructions to us, even, to let us know what we are to do when the false messiah is here and in control. God foretold us all things that would happen to us, if we will just take the time to study His Word we will not be frightened by things that come to pass.
God is warning us not to allow religions to deceive us, there will be many that claim to say that they speak with and know God. They will fill our heads with lies and make us dream of things that go against His Word. Jesus Said, “Take heed that ye be not deceived: for many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and the time draweth near: go ye not therefore after them.” - Luke 21:8. Stay in God's Word Christian's, it is the only defense that we have against the false prophets.
The Lord also revealed to Jeremiah that, in the future He would make a New Covenant with His people. “Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the LORD, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people. And they shall teach no more every man his neighbour, and every man his brother, saying, Know the LORD: for they shall all know me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them, saith the LORD: for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.” - Jeremiah 31:31-34. This is of course, referring to what will happen when Christ returns. It is when the earth is cleansed of all evil. Then God will place in the minds of all souls the mind of Christ, and all souls will will be taught to do right. No one will have to ask his neighbor what is right or wrong, for all will know the will of God, and wish to do it.
When the holy Jerusalem is rebuilt in the Millennium age, it shall be restored exactly as God has written in His Word. The Temple and walls with it's gates will stand eternally from that day forth. “And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.” - Revelation 21:1-3. God loved us so much that He gave His only begotten Son so we could enjoy this one day. Sadly, anyone who has not accepted Jesus will not get to see this which means that they will not even exist, nor will they be remembered by their loved ones that will be there. Who in the world would not want to be apart of such an awesome existence?
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, You know those to whom You are leading us to share the Gospel message. Sometimes these people are on our hearts for years and we've prayed for them time and again. Other times we are prompted by the Holy Spirit to speak to an individual we've never met. It is not in our own strength, wisdom, personality or talents that we share the message of salvation to those who are lost. It is in the power of Your Holy Spirit that we go forth bringing the message of hope and forgiveness to those who seek it. Help us not to be discouraged when we don't see an immediate response, but keep pressing forward and praying knowing that You know the timing of all things, even those who come to know You. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.
Have a blessed and wonderful day/night and weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina

Today's Message: Just Listen
Many people often wonder if God listens to them, the truth is that He is listening and all we have to do to get the answers is just listen to Him.
Many people that refuse to believe in or follow God do so because they do not understand how God would allow all the destruction and pain in the world. They fail to understand that God does not want to see any of His children suffer, He wants to see them blessed and prosperous in all that they do. Whether or not you realize it we are all children of God, the Evolutionists, the Buddhists, the Scientologists, and every other person who rejects the Word of God is a child of One God and One God only. How would you feel if your child completely ignores you, made an imaginary parent and worships it, disobeys you, and tells all kinds of lies about you? Much of the suffering and destruction of the world could have been avoided, God warns time and time again that it can be avoided. Before the destruction of Jerusalem God used Jeremiah to warn them, this time it was their final warning, “Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word: If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings. And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you, To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;” - Jeremiah 26:2-5. God is telling Jeremiah to go into the Temple and tell them what is about to take place and not to sugar coat it, be firm. There are times when we see someone doing something wrong and are afraid to approach them about it, but we must make an appoint to be firm and tell the truth, otherwise a lot of needless suffering can take place.
During the early part of Zedekiah's reign, God commanded Jeremiah to make a yoke and put it on his own neck, “Thus saith the LORD to me; Make thee bonds and yokes, and put them upon thy neck, And send them to the king of Edom, and to the king of Moab, and to the king of the Ammonites, and to the king of Tyrus, and to the king of Zidon, by the hand of the messengers which come to Jerusalem unto Zedekiah king of Judah;..........6And now have I given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, my servant; and the beasts of the field have I given him also to serve him.” - Jeremiah 27:2,3,6. The yoke symbolizes the coming captivity of the kingdom of Judah, because of their sin, God had appointed Nebuchadnezzar as ruler over all these nations. However, this proved to be a blessing to the people rather than a curse, “But the nations that bring their neck under the yoke of the king of Babylon, and serve him, those will I let remain still in their own land, saith the LORD; and they shall till it, and dwell therein.” - 27:11. What this means is although they were captured by Nebuchadnezzar, they were safe as Jerusalem was about the be destroyed and after a time they will be able to return to their own land again.
The yoke is used to protect the neck of the horse, while shifting the load from the weaker horse to the stronger. It balances the load to where each horse can do its share of work. When Jesus taught, He used this same expression as to how we are to take up His yoke when things get tough. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:28-30. When the load gets too heavy for you to withstand, Christ is waiting there to lighten your burden. He can not take that load unless you allow Him to receive it. You have to put that yoke on for yourselves, He is waiting there to help you, and when you take His yoke He will carry and balance the load for you.
I have had people, even some Christian's look at me like I am crazy when I say that God told me to do something, but the fact is God will speak to any person, they just need to listen for Him. That still small voice in your head is more than your conscience, it's God speaking to you. For example, just the other day I was at church and all of a sudden I get this thought in my head, you see I keep a skeleton key in the nursery just in case the kids lock themselves in the bathroom, that thought said to bring the key home with me. I did not think anything of it, but I did it anyway. When I got home from church I found out that my brother had somehow locked himself out of his room. If I did not have that key it would have been much harder to get in that room. So you see, God is always speaking, we just need to listen and obey Him more often, it will make getting through that door much easier.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, we often plead for Your attention and certainly expect You to listen to our prayers and You assure us through Your Word that You hear us when we call on You. For true fellowship to exist we too must listen to Your voice through Scripture, through fellow believers, through Your many works of creation, and through Your still small voice that is right there with us all day long. You have so much to tell us that will often encourage us, sometimes reprove us, but is always something that we need to hear Help us to listen, to heed, and to be steadfast in our daily fellowship with You. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful, healthy, and blessed day/night and weekend. Woo Hoo! TGIF!
God Bless You,
Christina

The Remnant
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is August 20, 2009 and we will be continuing our studies in the book of Jeremiah please read chapters 23-25 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-20.php" title="http://www.readytofollow.com/bible-august-20.php" target="_blank"http://www.readytofollow.com/...
Today's Message: The Remnant
There are many who call themselves Christian's, but God will gather the remnant of those to teach and preach His Truths, while those whom are telling lies will not go unpunished.
God holds those in authority accountable for what they do, He holds pastors and priests to an even higher standard. Why? Because they are a representative of God. When they are living ungodly lives and teaching lies it is God who gets the ridicule of it and they no longer trust. When a pastor or priest is deceitful to the congregation, God is the one they blame and walk away from. “Woe be unto the pastors that destroy and scatter the sheep of my pasture! saith the LORD. Therefore thus saith the LORD God of Israel against the pastors that feed my people; Ye have scattered my flock, and driven them away, and have not visited them: behold, I will visit upon you the evil of your doings, saith the LORD...........For both prophet and priest are profane; yea, in my house have I found their wickedness, saith the LORD. ” - Jeremiah 23:1,2,11. God is saying that He knows that His sheep (people) are being fed lies from the pastors and priests and now His people are scattered and have walked away from Him because of their lies. He is against pastors who are in charge of His people, and have placed themselves over the teaching of such abominations. God holds them responsible for every word and thing that they are doing to His People and will punish them for their wickedness. That is why it is very important for us sheep to study His Word for ourselves, if a pastor or priest does not encourage you to read the actual Bible yourself, he probably is not lining up his teaching with God's Word and is deceiving you.
It was because of their deceitfulness and the peoples unwillingness to listen and hear the warnings that God cause the destruction of Jerusalem and the kingdom of Judah. Now, only a few months remained before the Babylonians were about to destroy and take the Israelite's captive. It was now too late to pray for Jerusalem or for the Temple to be saved from destruction. However, rays of hope foretold of a brighter day. “And I will gather the remnant of my flock out of all countries whither I have driven them, and will bring them again to their folds; and they shall be fruitful and increase. And I will set up shepherds over them which shall feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, neither shall they be lacking, saith the LORD. Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will raise unto David a righteous Branch, and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute judgment and justice in the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.” - Jeremiah 23:3-6. God is saying that He will bring the remnant, those whom remain faithful to Him through all the suffering, together and bring them to an understanding of His Word. They will teach God's Word as it ought to be taught, chapter by chapter, cover to cover and will be fruitful in teaching others from that Word. Of course the Branch that God is talking about here is none other than our Lord Jesus Christ, whom is the Good Shepherd who will teach us God's Truths.
I will tell you that I spent years not knowing God's Word because I was not encouraged to read it, I never even had a Bible until I was twelve. I was taught the truth a little bit during vacation Bible school, but when I went to my mother about what I learned I got punished because she said that I was lying. I hated church too, I thought all churches were the same. I never understood what the priests were saying, but that was probably a good thing. I hated the thought of having to go before a priest and confess my sins to him, so I never did, I rebelled against the church, which meant I rebelled against God, so I thought He hated me and wanted nothing to do with me because I did not want to belong to that church. However, I learned that through all my struggles and worldly endeavors that God in fact did not hate me, but He loved me and He worked and worked until He got me to realize that. Today I am so grateful to God and for knowing the truth. What a relief that was! I image there are many that have felt this way at one point and maybe some that still do, but I can assure you that God does love you and He does not hate you. Who He hates is those liars whom have corrupted us and kept us from knowing the truth. That is why I am now devoted to teaching God's True Word, I am the remnant that God has spoken about and so are all of you whom have defeated Satan and his lies and now know the truth. “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.” - I John 4:3,4. Praise God!
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, help me to remain faithful to You and your calling upon my life. Strengthen and grow my faith as I daily search Your Scriptures and apply their truths to my spiritual walk. As I go through the trials and experiences of my earthly journey would You fix my eyes and my ever-wandering heart upon Jesus, whom is my teacher of Your truths, without Him I would not even know them. Because I take refuge in Jesus my spiritual foundation is firm, always dependable, and leads me to glorious victory. In Jesus' Name........Amen.
God Bless You,
Christina

Friends With Enemies
Today is Saturday August 08, 2009 and we are continuing our studies in the book of Isaiah, please read chapters 38-42 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaia h" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaia h" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2038-42&version=9
Today's Message: Friends With Enemies
As Christian's, we are to tell all about Christ and what He has done to us, but we need to be very careful whom we reveal more than the Gospel to the lost.
Hezekiah knew who God was and sought Him in His time of need, when the Assyrian army was surrounding the city, and about to starve it out, Hezekiah went to the Lord and Jerusalem was saved. However, Hezekiah had a problem with seeking God when things were going well in his life. Isaiah came to him with a message from the Lord. That message was to get his personal matters in order because he is going to die. “In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live. Then Hezekiah turned his face toward the wall, and prayed unto the LORD, And said, Remember now, O LORD, I beseech thee, how I have walked before thee in truth and with a perfect heart, and have done that which is good in thy sight. And Hezekiah wept sore. Then came the word of the LORD to Isaiah, saying, Go, and say to Hezekiah, Thus saith the LORD, the God of David thy father, I have heard thy prayer, I have seen thy tears: behold, I will add unto thy days fifteen years.” - Isaiah 38:1-5. Hezekiah did not ask Isaiah to intercede on his behalf, he humbly went to God, repented and made himself right with God. Then, God heard his prayer and added fifteen years on to his life. Just like God added years to Hezekiah's life, He can add years to our lives as well. It's not just having faith that adds on the years, its the service that we give Him during our time here that also keeps us here on earth a little longer.
After God had healed Hezekiah, he just could not wait to show and tell everyone what God had done for him, but he erred in that he was willing to tell everyone that would listen. “At that time Merodachbaladan, the son of Baladan, king of Babylon, sent letters and a present to Hezekiah: for he had heard that he had been sick, and was recovered. And Hezekiah was glad of them, and shewed them the house of his precious things, the silver, and the gold, and the spices, and the precious ointment, and all the house of his armour, and all that was found in his treasures: there was nothing in his house, nor in all his dominion, that Hezekiah shewed them not.….....Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts: Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD. And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon.” - Isaiah 39:1,2,5-7. Now, the error was not in telling the people about what God had done for him, it is who and what he told them. When Hezekiah received their letter with their gift, he was too quick to treat them as a friend. He showed them everything he had. He was proud of all the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointments, as well as all of their armor, and other treasures that had been stored in the Temple since the days of Solomon, with all his wealth. All the doors were opened, and they were allowed to view it all and record it for king Merodachbaladan. The warning here is to watch out what you show and tell to anyone who does not know God or His Word, for that is what shall be used against you in due time.
Many of the circumstances in the world, regardless of whether it is war, disease, or poverty, comes from the decisions we make. Many people wonder if there is a God then why all the war, why all the suffering, why all the disease, but in reality, none of these would have even come into play had we listened to God in the first place and that means all of us and all of His Word. “Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.” - Proverbs 13:18. God has given us every warning and instructions on how we can avoid all these tragedies, but it is self-righteousness, ignorance and rebellion that keep us from seeing peace in the world. All one has to do is take a look around the world today and see that Isaiah's prophecy is coming into play once again, only this time it will be our own nation.
Does Hezekiah's foolishness of telling Babylon their secrets sound like us today? Our leaders and military generals quick to show our enemies all of our armor, and telling them the capabilities of their use. Our weakness are blabbed around the world, and we just cant give our wealth away fast enough. As a nation we are taking the presents that the enemies are giving us, and buying into their one world system. They are writing the interpretations of God's Holy Word and the churches are believing their lies and traditions, just as they did when they crucified Jesus Christ. It is sad and scary to see all these things come into play, but we as Children of God can rest assure that we have Jesus and one day all of the wars, diseases, and poverty of the world will come to an end and we will truly have peace in the world.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Lord, we are known as one nation under God, but lately it is becoming one nation under power, greed, and money. Just as we have seen your predictions come to reality in the past, new ones are quickly coming into play. Lord, watch over us and protect us as we patiently await Your return. Help us to get the Gospel out to as many as we can so they too know the truth, work in their hearts and help them to understand before it is too late. Also, guide us and help us to be mindful and careful not to reveal too much to the enemy. In Jesus' Name..........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
God Bless You,
Christina

True Messiah
Today is Wednesday August 05, 2009 and we are continuing our studies in the book of Isaiah, please read chapters 22-26 in your Bible or Click Here to read them. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaia h" title="http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Isaia h" target="_blank"http://www.biblegateway.com/p...%2022-26&version=9
Today's Message: True Messiah
All we have to do is take a look around the world today and realize that many of the prophecies of Revelation are coming to pass, many will claim to be Christ, but there is only One True Messiah.
Isaiah's prophecy was first directed to Judah, then to Israel, then to the surrounding Gentile nations, and finally to all the world. Just as surely as many of the prophecies were fulfilled in ancient history, we can also expect that the Messiah Jesus will return as Christ the King. Isaiah 22 starts out with "The burden of the valley of vision"; it is not a warning, but an oracle written to and about Jerusalem. An "oracle" is an Divinely inspired writing of inspiration and revelation. Jerusalem is called the "valley of vision" because of the hills that it is built on, and around. It is a city of valleys, of Kedren, Megiddo, and so on. So what this chapter is talking about is the city of Jerusalem, and an inspiring revelation that will be given about her. “The burden of the valley of vision. What aileth thee now, that thou art wholly gone up to the housetops? Thou that art full of stirs, a tumultuous city, joyous city: thy slain men are not slain with the sword, nor dead in battle. All thy rulers are fled together, they are bound by the archers: all that are found in thee are bound together, which have fled from far. Therefore said I, Look away from me; I will weep bitterly, labour not to comfort me, because of the spoiling of the daughter of my people. For it is a day of trouble, and of treading down, and of perplexity by the Lord GOD of hosts in the valley of vision, breaking down the walls, and of crying to the mountains.” - Isaiah 22:1-5. This means that these people will be taken in a spiritual death by believing that Satan, who will be playing many roles including the role of Messiah, and they believe him to be God. In history, when both the Assyrian army came against the house of Israel, and the Babylonian army came against the house of Judah, their leaders ran. They snuck through the wall at night and ran from the enemy. Those that gave the commands to fight had fled afar. After the battle when the fighting is over, these so-called leaders will see what they have done, and will weep bitterly for the shame that they have brought upon themselves. When the spoiling takes place after the war, after the battle is lost and the leaders are gone, the people will see what they have done to themselves, and they will not want anyone to look at them because of the shame that they feel about themselves. This is why the prophet says there will be great shame on all of them.
It is amazing to read these revelations from the book of Isaiah, in a prophetic sense for our generation, the Antichrist is going to come, and the church system's leaders will also flee to the enemy, and from their teachings and commands all, but the elect of God will follow them. These so-called Christian's will give themselves over to the false messiah. Then on that day when the spoiling is complete and the people that have had their celebration, and in ignorance declare Satan to be their God. Jesus will then come to earth. The people of the entire earth will see what they have done, and weep bitterly for their shame. They will know what they have done, and that they allowed themselves to be deceived. We are told to "always watch Jerusalem" for the signs of the end times which will take place in Jerusalem. Jerusalem is the fountain seed of all prophecy in our Father's Word, and it is from this geographic location that we can figure out that the true Messiah will be coming very soon. “And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled. And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.” - Luke 21:24-27.
It is a bit scary to see the many prophecies of the “sign of the times” taking place, but we have nothing to worry about because we are God's elect, those whom have accepted the true Christ into their lives. We can rejoice in our Salvation knowing that none of us have to face that horrible day. “O Lord, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth. For thou hast made of a city an heap; of a defenced city a ruin: a palace of strangers to be no city; it shall never be built. Therefore shall the strong people glorify thee, the city of the terrible nations shall fear thee. For thou hast been a strength to the poor, a strength to the needy in his distress, a refuge from the storm, a shadow from the heat, when the blast of the terrible ones is as a storm against the wall............. He will swallow up death in victory; and the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from off all faces; and the rebuke of his people shall he take away from off all the earth: for the LORD hath spoken it. And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.” - Isaiah 25:1-4,8,9.
As Christian's we truly need to be following Christ's command to tell all nations about Him, He is coming real soon and once that happens we are not going to be here to help them. If they do not follow at least we did our part and all we can do is pray that they will come around before it is too late, but remember, only an elect few, those whom truly believe will be saved. We have sown the seed, it is up to them to cultivate it.
Today's Prayer: Dear God,
Lord, help us to remain faithful in planting Your seed of salvation to those who have not yet bowed their knee, to those who have not yet confessed with their tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. Whenever we open our mouths, may words be given to us so that we will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel to those who have not yet heard. In Jesus' Name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and enjoy the rest of your week.
God Bless,
Christina
